Clinical Efficacy And Prognostic Factors Of Different Treatment Schemes In 60 Chronic Feline With Stomatitis

With the development of pet industry in China,the number of cats has increased rapidly in recent years.At the same time,different diseases of cats are increasing in clinical diagnosis and treatment.Chronic stomatitis in cats is one of the common diseases.Cat chronic stomatitis does not pose a great threat to the life of cats,but it is extremely difficult to be completely cured,and has a high recurrence rate.In this study,we analyzed the treatment and prognosis of 60 cats with stomatitis,and explored the optimal treatment of cat chronic stomatitis,in order to improve the cure rate and reduce the recurrence rate.In this study,60 cases of cats with chronic stomatitis from three animal hospitals in Hefei,Anhui Province from September 2019 to February 2022 were counted,and their epidemiological history(age,sex,breed),clinical symptoms,laboratory characteristics and PCR detection results of respiratory pathogens(feline herpesvirus,feline calicivirus,mycoplasma,chlamydia psittaci)were compared and analyzed,so as to explore the cure rate,effective rate and clinical efficacy of chronic stomatitis in cats.The results of the study showed that five of the eleven cats with severe stomatitis were completely cured after full-mouth tooth extraction,and the symptoms of two cats were significantly improved,the symptoms of one cat were significantly improved after the adjuvant laser treatment,and the other three cats still relapsed after the treatment.Forty-eight cats were treated with drugs,and four cats with severe stomatitis showed moderate efficacy,six of the nine cats with moderate stomatitis were completely cured;34of 35 cats with mild stomatitis were completely cured.The only mild cat was cured after laser treatment.Conclusion of the study:(1)adjuvant hormone therapy can increase the cure rate of cat chronic stomatitis;(2)Assisted laser treatment can greatly improve the cure rate of chronic stomatitis in cats;(3)Full-mouth tooth extraction has the highest effective rate for the treatment of chronic stomatitis in cats,but the cure rate is not 100%.
