| The construction industry is the mainstay of China’s national economy.The development of macro policies and favorable market opportunities has led to substantial growth in the construction engineering sector.With the substantial development of China’s economy,and significant surge in Internet growth,the environment of the construction engineering industry has changed a lot.Coupled with the characteristics of the construction industry such as production mobility,construction diversity and comprehensive coordination,the development of the construction industry faces great uncertainty,high risks and dangers.Construction engineering enterprises are encountering an increasing number of unforeseen events that can lead to corporate crises,as they confront changes in the development environment,evolving trends in China’s construction industry,and existing challenges.In recent years,the problems exposed by construction enterprises in safety,quality and management have frequently triggered various crisis events that endanger the survival and development of enterprises.Construction Company A,the research object of this paper,is one of the most famous construction engineering consultants in the world,providing master planning,economic assessment,feasibility study,specific design,project management,construction supervision and other services.This paper employs the 4R theory of crisis management to analyze company A’s internal and external environment using PEST and SWOT methods,With the help of the PEST and SWOT analysis techniques,this study applies the 4R theory of crisis management to examine the internal and external environments of Company A,giving a thorough reflection of the company’s crisis management circumstance.Secondly,by engaging with the company’s senior management staff and industry expert and the questionnaire analysis of the company’s internal employees,the crisis management problems of A construction company were identified: neglect of crisis risk assessment and management,lack of early-warning system;inadequate crisis management preparation;delayed and ineffective crisis management response;single means of repair after crisis,and lack of post-crisis learning mechanism.Then we analyze these problems of construction company A,find out the reasons and make a crisis management plan to be ready to cope with the crisis actively rather than passively waiting for crisis,in order to reduce the occurrence of crisis,to better handle the crisis when it occurs and to mitigate negative impacts in the aftermath of a crisis.The specific crisis management plan includes four main aspects: enhancing the crisis reduction of Company A,strengthening Company A’s crisis readiness,improving Company A’s crisis response and optimizing the crisis recovery of Company A.Finally,in order to guarantee that the program is developed and implemented successfully,protective measures are outlined.The paper aims to assist Company A in improving its crisis management ability,designing an optimized plan for crisis management,and achieving better development. |
