For the time being,the hotel industry is a significant component of the national economy.Along with the process of urbanization and the enhancement of people’s living standards,the requirements of the hotel industry are also getting bigger and the competition is also becoming more and more drastic.As a China time-honored brand firm with a history of over one hundred and thirty years,Restaurant Y has attempted to combine its traditional catering business with the hotel industry in a bid to adapt to market variations and implement an integrated dining and lodging operation model.This restaurant is preparing to remodel its four to six floors into ninety-six guest rooms to aggrandize the guest room supporting business,thereby achieving cross-marketing among different businesses and enhancing economic performance.However,with regard to such an important reconstruction project,how to control the schedule and guarantee that the item is completed on time is of great significance and necessity.As a consequence,this thesis conducts a project schedule management study and comes up with a scheduled plan and regulatory measures appropriate to the actual situation of the item,in order to guarantee the controllability of the project progress and achieve the anticipated goals.This has important implications for the successful implementation of the project and the increased profitability of the enterprise.The purpose of this thesis is to apply the fundamental theory of scheduled plan management and to use basic approaches of Gantt chart and network planning technique to manage and optimize the construction progress of the project of rebuilding guest rooms from Restaurant Y.After a period of time of project startup,it was found that the original scheduled plan could not meet the requirements of the construction period.This thesis monitors and analyzes the on-the-spot construction conditions and administrative situation,and researches the construction scheduled plan originally formulated by the project construction organization.This thesis optimizes the network planning and project scheduling by means of using the critical path method(CPM),and proposes the modified corrective measures and methods.Through repeated practice and improvement,this thesis successfully controlled and perfected the construction schedule of the project of guest room reconstruction at Restaurant Y,and met the project schedule requirements of the construction unit to the maximum extent.In addition,this thesis raises homologous safeguard measures to guarantee that the follow-on work can be carried out as planned.This thesis considers that the introduction of a scientific project progress management method plays a critical role in controlling the schedule of engineering construction items.This thesis studies in accordance with the features of the original canteen of Restaurant Y reformed into the guest room project and the research methods and theories associated with project progress management,provides the scientific project scheduling,and comes up with improvement approaches in order to guarantee the construction period under control.This thesis hopes to raise the level of management of correlated project construction by providing reference and lessons for the same type of construction project schedule management.
