China has achieved rapid economic development since its reform and opening-up policy,but this development has been accompanied by high energy consumption and high environmental pollution.Therefore,China has proposed a "double carbon" goal,focusing on the pursuit of a green and high-quality economy,and improving energy efficiency is an effective way to achieve this development goal.The Yangtze River Economic Zone is both the center of China’s economic development and the main carrier of economic development,which is representative.Therefore,under the dual carbon target,this paper focuses on four aspects,including the measurement of energy efficiency in the Yangtze River Economic Zone,the analysis of spatial and temporal divergence of energy efficiency,the analysis of energy efficiency energy saving and emission reduction potential and the analysis of energy efficiency influence factor grouping.The research content and main findings of this paper are.(1)The energy efficiency of 11 provinces and cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt from 2011 to 2020 was measured by extracting the key words of the text of dual carbon policy through LDA theme model,selecting the evaluation index of energy efficiency,and using SBM-Undesirable model,and conducting an in-depth analysis of their energy efficiency measurement results.The study shows that the energy efficiency of the Yangtze River Economic Belt has not reached the effective state of energy efficiency after the LDA keyword extraction and the selection of suitable indicators,and it is found that the average value of energy efficiency has not reached the effective state of energy efficiency,and there is much room for improvement.Shanghai and Zhejiang are the only regions where energy efficiency has been in the production frontier.(2)The above energy efficiency measurement results are used to analyze the spatial and temporal variation of the Yangtze River Economic Zone.Firstly,the temporal variation of energy efficiency in the Yangtze River Economic Zone is analyzed by using the temporal variation trend graph;then the spatial variation of energy efficiency in the Yangtze River Economic Zone is analyzed by using the global Moran’s I index and local Moran’s I index.The study shows that,in terms of temporal variation,the overall energy efficiency of the Yangtze River Economic Belt shows a flat decreasing trend during the study period.From the overall spatial pattern changes,the overall global Moran’s I index of energy efficiency in the Yangtze River Economic Belt shows positive spatial correlation and exhibits an extremely strong spatial clustering feature.In terms of local spatial patterns,most of the downstream areas show "H-H aggregation",while most of the middle and upstream areas show "L-L aggregation".(3)An energy conservation and emission reduction model was constructed to quantify the energy conservation and emission reduction potential of the Yangtze River Economic Zone,and to develop specific implementation approaches for energy conservation and emission reduction in each province and city.The study shows that,in terms of energy saving potential,the value of energy saving potential in the Yangtze River Economic Zone does not change much and shows a decreasing trend in general.In terms of emission reduction potential,the potential values of carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide emission reduction in the Yangtze River Economic Zone are increasing.Overall,the emission reduction potential of the Yangtze River Economic Zone is much higher than the energy saving potential,so its emission reduction task is relatively urgent.The Yangtze River Economic Zone is divided into regions according to the performance of different energy saving and emission reduction potentials,and different regions will implement different emission reduction paths.(4)The fsQCA method was applied to analyze the influence of factors such as economic development level,industrial structure,government regulation,degree of openness to the outside world,technology level and environmental protection input on the grouping of energy efficiency in the Yangtze River Economic Zone.The study shows that the development of energy efficiency in the Yangtze River Economic Belt is not dependent on a single condition variable,but is the result of the combined effect of several condition variables,as found in the necessity test results.In the results of the histological analysis,it is found that the above influencing factors form four different histological paths to improve the energy efficiency development of each region in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.Finally,based on this study,countermeasures are proposed for the energy efficiency development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt according to the development characteristics of different provinces and cities.
