| According to the statistics, the number of children with ASD in China is nearly three million, among whom the ratio of boys to girls is 3-4:1,showing a significant difference in the ratio of males to females. One of the core issues faced by ASD children is social barriers, and there is a significant gender difference in social behavior between male and female ASD children. This is manifested in the tendency of ASD girls to withdraw during social interaction and their ability to conceal their own ASD symptoms, while boys with ASD show more aggressive and hyperactive tendencies. As a result, boys with ASD receive more attention than girls at an early age because of their more aberrant behavior, resulting in girls with ASD being more likely to be overlooked in treatment and diagnosis. The purpose of this study is to examine the product shape preference of young boys and girls with mild ASD from a gender perspective. The study was conducted by using pairwise comparison method on the participants who are boys and girls with mild ASD aged 3 to 6years old,and the experimental data were obtained by using 8 conventional shapes in the design of rehabilitation training products as evaluation criteria. The aim of this study is to improve the effectiveness of rehabilitation training for young boys and girls with mild ASD by addressing their attention deficit. The results of the study show that there is a significant difference in the shape preference of rehabilitation products between boys and girls with mild ASD,with boys preferring polygonal shapes with rounded corners and squares, and girls preferring more feminine and curved shapes with hearts and flowers. Therefore, this thesis distinguishes by gender to obtain accurate data on the shape preference of boys and girls with mild ASD,thus distinguishing their preference for product shape and promoting targeted development of rehabilitation training products for boys and girls with mild ASD. |
