With the continuous development of modern society and the advancement of technology,people’s aesthetic level is gradually improving,and people’s access to information media is becoming more diverse.Traditional printed products cannot meet the media needs of visual communication,and people’s sensory methods of obtaining information are not only based on their previous vision.Smell,taste,touch,and hearing can all become media for goods to convey information to people.With the increasing demand for product experience from consumers,brands need to pay more attention to the overall sensory experience of consumers,rather than just focusing on the appearance and quality of products.The packaging design requirements for products are no longer limited to a single,static,and flat visual experience.The outer packaging should not simply list patterns and text on the outer packaging of goods,but should pay more attention to three-dimensional,diversified,and personalized needs in design.Most of the packaging of products in the market now focuses on functionality and protection.Their design mainly focuses on factors such as product appearance,material,and packaging structure,and cannot distinguish them well from similar products.This article takes packaging design as the carrier,starting from the perspective of multi sensory design,and integrates auditory,tactile,olfactory,and taste experience elements into traditional packaging design.Firstly,through field research,literature research,and other methods,analyze the current research status of multi sensory packaging at home and abroad,understand consumers’ needs for packaging when purchasing goods,and analyze the inclusion of cross sensory and three-dimensional expressions in packaging design to present the information of the product from multiple dimensions.Secondly,clarify the concept of multi sensory design,integrate and sort out the packaging concepts of multi sensory design,explore the characteristics of multi sensory packaging and the relevant factors that affect its development,and systematically summarize them.Once again,analyze the differences and advantages between multi sensory packaging and traditional packaging design,explore the improvements in multi sensory packaging design compared to traditional packaging design,and explore the emotional experience for users.Finally,we look forward to the future development trend of multi sensory packaging design.The innovation of this article lies in analyzing and practicing the importance of packaging design for "user sensory perception" from a multi-sensory perspective,emphasizing the people-oriented concept,and advocating that designers should consider design more from the perspective of "service provider perception".Multi sensory packaging design focuses on the emotional experience of the product and the perceived needs of consumers.When designing packaging,various sensory experiences of the product are considered to provide a richer and more vivid consumption experience,catch consumers’ attention,and enhance their purchasing desire.Exploring the systematicity,rationality,and more humanized methods and approaches of multi sensory packaging design under the concept of multi sensory design.Multi sensory packaging design is the development trend of future packaging design,providing new ideas and broader design space for packaging design.
