The digital economy era,with data and information as the main production factors,has broken through the limitations of traditional production methods and has become a new driving force for regional innovation and development.The core industry of digital economy is the basic part of digital economy and is crucial to the development of digital economy and the core driving force for promoting economic and social development.The scale of China’s digital economy is expanding rapidly,but there are problems of unbalanced,insufficient and uncoordinated development of the digital economy in various provinces.In the process of coordinated regional development,what is the development status of the core industries of digital economy in China’s provinces? What are the spatial characteristics? What impact do the core industries of digital economy have on regional innovation capabilities? Therefore,it is of strong practical significance to study the spatial characteristics and regional innovation effects of the core industries of digital economy.On the one hand,it can present the development status of the core industries of digital economy in various provinces in China,and correctly understand the regional differences of the core industries of digital economy and their impact on regional innovation capabilities.On the other hand,it can enrich the research results of the core industries of the digital economy,and deepen the research of the spatial correlation theory and regional innovation effect of the core industries of the digital economy.According to the "Statistical Classification of Digital Economy and Its Core Industries(2021)" and the "Classification of National Economic Industries"(GB/T4754-2017),considering the availability of data,the core industries of the digital economy studied are composed of two major industries: computer,communication and other electronic equipment manufacturing and information transmission,software and information technology service industry in this thesis.The inspection period is2012-2020 and it mainly analyzes the two indicators of operating income and employment number of the core industries of digital economy.Based on the spatial statistical method,this thesis analyzes the spatial structure of the operating income and employment number of the core industries of digital economy from the spatial distribution pattern and spatial connection characteristics.In addition,an intermediary effect model is constructed to analyze the regional innovation effect of the operating income and employment number of the core industries of digital economy.Firstly,analyzing the development of the core industries of the digital economy from the added value,operating income,employment number,fixed asset investment.Secondly,using the standard deviation elliptical model to analyze the spatial distribution pattern of the core industries of digital economy.Mainly from the change of the center of gravity,azimuth and elliptical area to explore the evolution process of the geographical element distribution characteristics of the core industry of digital economy,and visualized with the help of Arc GIS 10.3,so as to more intuitively show the spatial distribution characteristics of the core industries of digital economy.Thirdly,using the gravitational model and social network analysis method to analyze the spatial connection characteristics of the core industries of digital economy.Measuring the strength of the spatial connection between the core industries of the digital economy by the gravitational model,and revealing the structural characteristics of the spatial connection network of the core industries of digital economy from three aspects: network density,network centrality and cohesive subgroup.Finally,constructing the mediation effect model to analyze the relationship between the core industries of digital economy,innovation input and regional innovation.Constructing the mediation effect model for the eastern,central and western regions to analyze the heterogeneity of the regional innovation effect of the core industries of digital economy,and testing the robustness of the model by replacing the explanatory variables.According to the analysis,the thesis draws the following main research conclusions:(1)In terms of spatial distribution pattern,the operating income and employment number of the core industries of digital economy as a whole and sub-industries show a distribution pattern of northeast and southwest and the distribution center of gravity has a tendency to move southward.The spatial distribution of operating income of the core industries of digital economy and the computer,communication and other electronic equipment manufacturing industries has expanded,and the spatial distribution of employment number has concentrated.The spatial distribution of operating income and employment number of the information transmission,software and information technology service industries has concentrated.(2)In terms of spatial connection characteristics,the growth rate of the connection intensity of the core industries of digital economy as a whole and sub-industries is obvious.The contact direction is relatively stable,the primary contact provinces are mostly neighboring provinces,and the density of contact networks is gradually increasing,but the increase is slowing down.The provinces of Beijing,Shanghai,Jiangsu and Zhejiang in the eastern region belong to the provinces of high inlet-high ejection and constitute the core spillover source in the network.Although Liaoning and Jilin are not core provinces,they play a strong intermediary role in the network.The phenomenon of regional small groups is obvious,and the core industries of the digital economy in neighboring provinces are closely linked,and it is easier to form the same subgroup,especially the large subgroup condensed and formed in the eastern region,which has a strong radiation and driving effect.(3)In terms of regional innovation effect,the operating income of the core industries of digital economy not only directly promotes regional innovation capabilities,but also indirectly promotes the improvement of innovation capabilities by increasing innovation input.Employment number of the core industries of digital economy has direct negative impact on regional innovation ability,but the indirect impact is not significant.There is regional heterogeneity in the regional innovation effect of the core industries of digital economy,with the central region being larger than that in the eastern region and not significantly in the western region.
