Research On The Impact Of Digital Economy On Urban Innovation Capability

China is at a critical period of moving towards the forefront of an innovative country,and it is crucial to continuously and deeply implement the innovation-driven development strategy and build a national innovation system.Under the new economic era with the information technology revolution as the core,the digital economy has become a new driving force for economic development.Therefore,it is important to study the impact of digital economy on urban innovation capability in first-tier,new first-tier and second-tier cities,in order to seize the opportunities of digital economy development in first-tier,new first-tier and second-tier cities,enhance urban innovation capability,and overall drive China to accelerate its advancement to the forefront of an innovative country.This paper firstly analyzes the mechanism of digital economy development’s influence on urban innovation capability,including the basic mechanism,the influence path analysis of industrial structure optimization and senior talent level and the spatial effect.Secondly,the entropy method is used to measure the comprehensive level of digital economy development and urban innovation ability of first-tier,new first-tier and second-tier cities.(1)The comprehensive evaluation index system of digital economy development is constructed and measured from three dimensions: digital infrastructure,application and integration of digital technology and digital development environment.(2)A comprehensive evaluation index system of urban innovation capability is constructed and measured from three dimensions of innovation input,innovation output and innovation supporting environment.It is found that the comprehensive level of digital economic development of first-tier cities of our country is at a leading position.The digital economic development and urban innovation capacity of most cities in the new first-tier cities are higher than the overall average,but the development gap between leading and backward cities is large,and the phenomenon of unbalanced development exists between cities.Thirdly,the intermediary utility model and spatial Dubin model are used to empirically analyze the influence path and spatial effect of digital economy development on urban innovation capability.It is found that the development of digital economy has a significant positive effect on the improvement of urban innovation capability of first-tier,new first-tier and second-tier cities in China,and the optimization of industrial structure and the level of senior talents in the process of digital economy enabling urban innovation capability play a partial intermediary effect.At the same time,the urban innovation capacity of first-tier,new first-tier and second-tier cities in China has positive spatial correlation.The development of digital economy can not only promote the improvement of local urban innovation capacity,but also promote the improvement of urban innovation capacity of neighboring cities,and there is a significant positive spillover effect.Finally,from the perspective of digital economy development,relevant suggestions are made to accelerate the innovation capacity of first-tier,new first-tier and second-tier cities in China,narrow the development gap between cities and drive the construction of an innovative country in China as a whole.
