Research On The Impact Of China’s Digital Economy Development On Regional Innovation Ability

Under the catalysis of the new round of scientific and technological revolution in the world,digital economy,as an emerging business form under the current economic situation,is playing a more and more important role in the regional innovation system.The digital economy with data as the main production factor can not only promote the circulation of innovation resources among regions,but also strengthen the coordination and cooperation of innovation subjects among regions.The development of digital economy has become a new driving force for the improvement of innovation ability.The existing literature has made a preliminary discussion on the relationship between digital economy and regional innovation,but there are still some deficiencies in the research on the mechanism and demonstration.This thesis examines the impact of China’s digital economy development on regional innovation ability,analyzes the internal mechanism of the impact,and empirically tests the mechanism of the impact of digital economy development on regional innovation ability.On the one hand,it reviews the relevant literature,summarizes the concept and measurement methods of digital economy,the influencing factors and evaluation indicators of regional innovation ability,combs the relationship between digital economy and regional innovation,and analyzes the direct effect of digital economy development on regional innovation ability.From the perspective of human capital and R&D investment,this paper analyzes the indirect effect of digital economy development on regional innovation ability,and also discusses the marginal effect and increasing nonlinear effect of digital economy development on regional innovation ability.On the other hand,based on the panel data of 30 provinces,cities and autonomous regions in China from 2011 to 2020,this thesis calculates the digital economy development index and the level of regional innovation ability,and empirically tests the mechanism of digital economy development affecting regional innovation ability by using panel regression model,intermediary effect model and threshold regression model.The results show that:(1)the development of China’s digital economy has greatly promoted the improvement of regional innovation ability,but there are regional differences.(2)The impact of digital economy development on regional innovation ability has the intermediary effect of human capital and R&D investment,that is,digital economy development can indirectly have a positive impact on regional innovation ability by gathering human capital and increasing R&D investment.(3)The impact of digital economy development on regional innovation ability has significant nonlinear characteristics.Further research shows that the impact of digital economy development on regional innovation ability has significant single threshold of human capital and double threshold of R&D investment.According to the above research results,the following suggestions are put forward: First,implement the development strategy of differentiated digital economy and promote the coordinated development of regional innovation;Second,accelerate the development of digital economy and create a good innovation environment;Third,optimize the allocation of innovation resources and achieve accurate input of factors.
