From the perspective of resilience evaluation, this paper explores the micro-renewal of the old urban communities, which is not only a supplement and extension of the current urban community micro-renewal,but also to enhance the resilience and resilience of the old urban communities in response to various emergencies.Since the outbreak of COVID-19,the community,as an important part of the city, has made a positive response to this situation. The internal public space has become the only place where people can have leisure activities and plays a pivotal role in the isolation of the home. However, the rapid development of China in the past 30 years has caused many problems such as aging infrastructure, dysregulation of spatial structure and weakening of function in the old urban communities. There are serious security risks in the current situation of the old urban communities. If a disaster does occur,it will have a devastating impact on older communities, which are increasingly in need of micro-renewal.After years of development and practice at home and abroad, the concept of resilience has been gradually introduced into the transformation of community public space, which shows that it is feasible to enhance the ability of community to cope with risks by improving the resilience of community public space. This paper takes improving the resilience of the old community as the starting point, uses resilience and micro-renewal related theories, constructs the resilience evaluation index system of the public space of the old community, further evaluates the current situation of the old community in Wuhan, and puts forward specific strategies and measures. This paper is divided into the following parts. The first part: combined with relevant literature, the previous background and concept content are described in detail, and the theoretical research on resilience and micro-renewal at home and abroad is systematically summarized. The second part constructs the evaluation index system of Wuhan’s old community resilience on the basis of the current resilience goal and characteristics of the old community in our country.Through field research, the paper analyzes the specific problems and root causes of the resilience of the old communities in Wuhan, and selects three representative communities to introduce the resilience evaluation system. In the third part,on the basis of the above theoretical analysis combined with practice, and aiming at the actual situation of Wuhan’s old communities, feasible resilient micro-renewal design strategies are proposed from four aspects: space environment, infrastructure, organization and management, and social culture. Finally, the main conclusions, innovation points and shortcomings of this paper are summarized, and a new idea for the future resilience construction of the old community is proposed.
