With the continuous and rapid development of my country’s economy, the level of urbanization continues to increase, the urban public transportation system is gradually improved, and the travel options for passengers are constantly enriched.Whenever a new mode of transportation enters the urban transportation system,it will inevitably have an impact with the passenger transport market of the existing transportation mode, and a competitive relationship will arise. When the two parties find that they cannot completely squeeze the other out of the market through a purely competitive strategy, they can only achieve a win-win situation through cooperation. How to coordinate the development of multiple transportation modes within the overall urban transportation system has been the focus of social attention and research by domestic and foreign scholars in recent years. Therefore, the study of competition and cooperation between different modes of transportation has important practical significance. It is essential for the integrated construction of the urban transportation system to maintain the healthy and stable development of the system. This article starts with the positioning of urban rail transit and conventional public transportation.First, the basic characteristics of the two public transportation modes are explained in terms of routes, station spacing, and passenger travel characteristics. Then, the theory of competition and cooperation is introduced, and the concept introduction and model explanation are clarified. The co-opetition relationship between the two. Then, taking passenger flow sharing rate and station spacing as the research objects, the competition and cooperation relationship between urban rail transit and conventional public transportation are further elaborated.Select the factors that affect the choice of passenger travel mode to establish a utility function, and then build a sharing rate model of the two transportation modes based on Logit theory to clarify the competitive relationship;then study the rationality of the layout of the bus stop spacing, with the goal of minimizing the travel distance of passengers.Establish the optimal station spacing model of the bus station, introduce the particle swarm algorithm to solve the model, and then obtain the optimal station spacing position, propose the station layout location plan of the bus line, and clarify the cooperation relationship between the two. Finally, taking the collinear part(Hekou-Convention and Exhibition Center)of Dalian Rail Transit Line1 and 28 bus lines as an example, the above theoretical model is applied to obtain the passenger flow sharing rate of the two and the optimized number of bus stops and sums. The distance between each station is analyzed based on the calculation results of the current situation of the competition between rail transit Line 1 and No.28 bus,and combined with the calculation results of the distance between stations, the travel time, distance, transfer efficiency and other indicators of passengers before and after optimization are analyzed. The results show that after optimization, the various indicators of passengers have been improved, and the passengers’ travel experience has been greatly improved.
