Research On The Competition And Cooperation Relationship Between Urban Rail Transit And Bus Transit

Since the1980s, the construction of rail transit in major cities in mainland China hasbeen growing vigorously. Urban rail transport quickly become the ideal way in major urbanpublic transport, for its punctuality, fast, and many other advantages.It’s possible that in thefuture urban public rail transport system will be comparable to regular bus system. Theexistence and development of urban rail transport bring a strong impact on flow ofpassengers.Taking this into consideration,it is vital to adjust the regular bus system to dealthe challenge caused by rail transport.Based on the quantitative research against thecompetitive relation between rail transport system and regular bus system,this paperanalysese the synergetic relationship between these two options,formulates the adjustmentmethod of regular bus system,which help to avoid the unnecessary mutual strengthconsumption and help to take advantage of the both,leading to the decrease in overlaps andcontradictions and to laying a foundation to integrated public transit system.In the quantitative research of competition between urban rail transport andconventional bus system, writer compares the characteristics of the both, and analyse theinfluence and resources of urban rail transport, which identifies the space and the passengerflow characteristics of both within the scope of competition.By using the utilitymaximization theory,this paper establishes the passenger flow sharing ratiomodel.Combined with the investigation date in Guangzhou luogang district,this thesisanalyse the date fitting,which lays the foundation for the further study on synergicrelationship.In the study of collaborative relationship between urban rail transport and conventionalbus, this thesis analysese the internal and external factors, and figures out that the mainfactor of synergic relationship is the combination of rail transport and regular bus,which isdiscussed in the aspect of transit network layout,the capacity matching and the constructionof transit hub and pricing plocy.
