The new era promotes the continuous development of vocational education,and also poses new challenges to the cultivation of talents in the field of mechanical and electrical engineering.The core competencies of the subject are a concentrated reflection of the educational value of the curriculum,and are an important goal for engineering education to advance in depth.In the context of putting education first and teaching first,cultivating mechanical and electrical professionals with comprehensive development of knowledge and ability requires a more scientific and comprehensive design path.How to innovate classroom teaching forms,improve education and teaching quality,and promote the implementation of subject core literacy is a hot and difficult issue in vocational education.Traditional teaching design is teacher centered,textbook centered,and knowledge centered,with phenomena such as unclear teaching objectives,fixed evaluation forms,and simplified activity organization,which to some extent affect students’ knowledge acquisition and ability cultivation.To overcome the existing teaching shortcomings,it is necessary to innovate teaching concepts and broaden teaching design channels based on the characteristics of the subject.As a new teaching concept,the reverse design model is based on the whole,pursues understanding,and promotes teaching through evaluation,providing a focus for achieving teaching objectives,connecting teaching processes,and reflecting on teaching activities.Given the practical characteristics of the reverse design mode,the paper is based on the theory and application achievements of reverse design,focusing on the path of cultivating students through the core elements of the discipline.At the same time,the concept of the discipline is introduced as a teaching design element,and a teaching framework for the vocational school "Mechanical Fundamentals" course based on the reverse design mode is proposed,which promotes students’ intellectual development.During this process,the following questions were mainly answered:(1)Is the reverse design mode applicable to the teaching of the mechanical foundation course in vocational schools?(2)How to develop a teaching framework based on reverse design mode that conforms to the characteristics of the mechanical foundation course in vocational schools?(3)How to verify the application effect of the reverse design framework in the teaching of Mechanical Fundamentals in vocational schools?To this end,the paper first reviewed the literature and sorted out the relevant research on reverse design patterns and subject core competencies.At the same time,it conducted a survey and analysis of the current teaching situation of the vocational school "Mechanical Fundamentals" course,and summarized the commonalities and shortcomings of existing research;Secondly,the paper combines the characteristics of the vocational school "Mechanical Fundamentals" course with the key points of reverse design,follows the two main lines of concept construction and ability cultivation proposed,and designs a teaching framework for the vocational school "Mechanical Fundamentals" course around the three stages of goals,evaluation,and activities,and applies it to specific course units;Finally,based on the reverse design framework,the paper carried out teaching practice for the vocational school "Mechanical Fundamentals" course.Through teaching feedback,it was concluded that compared to traditional teaching design,the teaching of the vocational school "Mechanical Fundamentals" course based on the reverse design model achieved consistency in teaching objectives,teaching evaluations,and teaching activities,and achieved the expected teaching results.This further proves that the reverse design model pursues the understanding of subject concepts A framework model for cultivating core competencies of vocational school students.The teaching framework and practical application of "Mechanical Foundations" in secondary vocational education based on reverse design mode proposed in the paper provide new insights for the reform of teaching ideas and the cultivation of subject core competencies in secondary vocational education,and also provide certain reference for subsequent teaching research.
