Emotional Design Of Emergency Department Space Environment In Children’s Hospital Based On Semantic Difference Method (SD)

With the dramatic improvement of social living standards,the design of children’s hospital has changed from "technology first" to "humanistic care".The emergency department of children’s hospital is located in the front line of the hospital to treat children,which can be regarded as a miniature of the hospital as a whole.The quality characteristics of its space design are of great significance to shaping a good medical treatment environment.In this context,this thesis studies the emergency department space with the largest personnel density during the treatment of children,in order to clarify the relationship between the design of emergency room and the emotional experience of children and their families.SD(Semantic Differential)emotion scale and emotional environment design theory model were established to clarify the connection between emergency space design and the emotional experience of children patients and their accompanying families.Children and their families in 3 grade A children’s hospitals were investigated for architectural space elements and emotional experience of emergency space,and the influence of architectural space elements in emergency space design on user experience was discussed.At the end,based on the existing cases,there are problems such as insufficient waiting escort space,lack of independent operation ability at night in some emergency departments of hospitals,drab building space,lack of supporting facilities,and poor air quality.This thesis discusses the design strategy of the emergency department space of Children’s Hospital and puts forward optimization suggestions from the level of physiological feeling,use activity and spiritual consciousness.It also takes the Emergency Department of Nanjing Children’s Hospital as the research object and optimizes its plane and interior design.It is hoped that suggestions on spatial design optimization based on enhancing the emergency experience of children patients and their accompanying family members can be put forward from three aspects of functional layout,medical treatment streamline and physical environment.It is suggested that the functional layout should simplify the treatment process of children;Streamline organization to achieve overall clear and efficient,doctor-patient diversion,cleaning diversion;The physical environment can make the clinic space into an independent area,add children’s entertainment area and parent-child reading area,not only reduce the density of personnel in the area,but also achieve the effect of noise reduction,create a home reading atmosphere,improve the spatial satisfaction of children and their families.It provides an emotional idea for the development and construction of emergency department space in children’s hospital in the future.
