Building information Modelling or BIM is a work process whose application on a development task will empower all elaborate players to order data on each part of the structure in a focal model/data set.Through BIM reception,the whole structure can be for all intents and purposes based on a PC.In BIM various professionals and players work cooperatively and share information efficiently to deliver a organized design and construction process.With all the promises and advantages,the actual BIM implementation is,however,a huge undertaking.Interoperability among BIM software is still a challenge.There are difficulties in importing an model and programming data from one BIM software to another.A single integrated software platform for all the phases of a building design and construction planning is achieved This exploration looks at the encounters of a nations with BIM and utilize that knowledge to acquaint BIM with Ethiopian plan and development industry.BIM contacts all aspects of a structure’s life cycle beginning from the plan stage all the way into the development stage and past that into resource the board.Notwithstanding,the exploration will zero in on the plan phase of a structure.Transformation of BIM during configuration stage will require all plan colleagues to execute BIM.The exploration centers around underlying architects and how BIM can work on the nature of their plan.The exploration shows how all underlying model exercises can be incorporated with one another and how cross-discipline joint effort with engineering can be accomplished through BIM reception.An example building is taken and BIM is executed utilizing Revit alongside ordinary programming bundle ETABS and SAFE.modules and applications have been created for every one of these product bundles to work with interoperability among them so they can go about as a solitary stage.Displaying,investigation,plan and conflict discovery were totally worked with by applying BIM.Through the exploration different advantages of BIM were outlined.The structural object families and the various structural analysis&design parameters created during this research can be reused in future building project,with or without to implement BIM workflow.Likewise,the tools and plugins developed during this research can be reused in other building project.Furthermore,the tools and plugins developed served to integrate fragmented structural design tasks.Computations that are not performed by ETABS are introduced to ETABS through the plugins.The result of those plugins,similar with the result of ETABS analysis and design,is stored in the central model.At the end,the central model was rich with structural data.
