The automotive industry can reflect the overall level of a country’s industrial manufacturing industry,and its development is currently in an important period of strategic opportunities.In the next decade,disruptive technological innovation will trigger significant changes in the global automotive industry and even the broader travel industry.Financial competitiveness is an important component of a company’s core competitiveness and plays a decisive role in its future sustainable and healthy development.Geely Automobile Holdings Limited(hereinafter referred to as "Geely Automobile")is a subsidiary of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group and a leading enterprise in China’s independent brand passenger vehicles.After more than 20 years of development,the company has achieved independent innovation and mastered core technologies in the automotive field.The purpose of this study is to analyze the financial competitiveness of Geely Automobile,analyze its advantages and disadvantages,and provide improvement measures for Geely Automobile to improve its financial competitiveness.This will provide a helping hand to enhance Geely Automobile’s financial competitiveness and help Geely Automobile better occupy market opportunities in the future.This article selects Geely Automobile as the research object and studies its financial competitiveness based on sustainable development theory,financial strategy theory,and competitive advantage theory.This article first provides a brief introduction to Geely Automobile’s main business,development history,and brand mission.Secondly,a systematic description was made of the "Blue Geely Action" and "Intelligent Geely 2025" strategies formulated by Geely Automobile,and the financial strategy of Geely Automobile was analyzed.Finally,a SWOT analysis and Porter’s Five Forces analysis were conducted on the operating environment and competitive status of Geely Automobile.The conclusion drawn is that Geely Automobile faces problems such as low brand image,poor competitive environment,and lagging behind in new energy vehicles.From a financial perspective,Geely Automobile can improve its performance in the competitive market by improving its financial competitiveness.Based on the conceptual analysis of financial competitiveness,the article describes Geely Automobile’s financial competitiveness performance from the perspectives of profitability,capital,operations,development,and research and development.We used factor analysis to empirically analyze the financial competitiveness of Geely Automobile and 22 similar listed companies,and scientifically,objectively,and truthfully evaluated the current financial competitiveness of Geely Automobile.The results of the study found that Geely Automobile’s overall financial competitiveness performance is excellent,with a capital competitiveness factor score above average,a profit competitiveness factor score ranking first,an operational competitiveness factor score ranking low,a development competitiveness factor score is average,and a short-term debt repayment factor score ranking low.It can be seen that Geely Automobile is relatively backward in asset management and short-term debt repayment,needs to be improved as soon as possible.Based on the analysis results,this article proposes to determine a reasonable debt scale and financing methods;Increase sales,find new profit growth points,and control costs;Improve the efficiency of fixed asset utilization,strengthen management efforts,and optimize asset management teams;Develop new product development strategies,enhance innovation capabilities,and explore potential customers;Improving strategies for expanding financing channels,adjusting debt structure,and providing national financial support.
