Research On Street Space Of Wusutu Historical And Cultural Block Based On Space Syntax

With the rapid development of urbanization in China,urban land has changed from incremental to stock planning.In order to build a new type of people-centered urbanization,alleviate the problems of insufficient urban land and poor environment,urban renewal was written into the 14 th Five-Year Plan for the first time.In the context of rapid economic development,historical and cultural blocks,as the embodiment of the spirit and cultural attributes of urban places,have been gradually disconnected from the overall development of the city and become spaces of low quality in the city.The protection and optimization of historical and cultural blocks has become urgent,which requires systematic in-depth research and puts forward targeted protection and optimization strategies to continue the cultural value of blocks.Wusutu Historical and Cultural Block is the most complete existing Residential historical and cultural block with Soviet style planning and construction style in Baotou,and it is the witness of Baotou’s industrial development history during the "1st Five-Year Plan" period.Due to the early construction time,Wusutu historical and cultural block is faced with the loss of traditional style,aging building facilities and other problems.In this paper,literature research method,field research method,with the help of space syntax and qualitative combination,from macro to micro perspective to analyze the street space form of Wusutu historical and cultural blocks and study the optimization strategy.Firstly,from the macro level,the data of the physical geographical location,human landscape elements,planning and development history of the city where the block is located are collected and sorted out to demonstrate the research value of the block and the necessity of protection and optimization.Second,at the meso level,the axis method and line segment analysis method in space syntax are used to analyze the spatial attributes of the block,such as land use status,road network structure,people movement and traffic streamline.It is found that the current situation is highly correlated with the research results,and the spatial structure characteristics of Wusutu historical and cultural blocks are summarized through integration and comparative analysis.Thirdly,the influence of the elements of street interface on the line of sight is explored and the problems existing in the node space are found by using the view analysis method at the micro level.Fourthly,through field research,comprehensive analysis of Wusutu historical and cultural blocks from the aspects of street texture and architectural style,public activity space and so on,and the characteristics and problems of spatial forms at all levels are summarized.Finally,based on the results of the investigation and analysis of space syntax and current situation,the optimization strategies are proposed from the perspectives of street network,format layout and visual space.This paper supplements the empirical data of Wusutu historical and cultural block by investigating its current situation.The paper makes a quantitative study on the street spatial morphology of Wusutu historical and cultural blocks through space syntax,and proves the feasibility of space syntax from the results of syntax analysis and parameter conclusion.Through the combination of the research results of space syntax and the current situation,this paper puts forward the optimization strategy for the street space of Wusutu historical and cultural block,and provides some reference significance for the future protection and development of the blocks.
