Popularizing green production technology is an effective means to reduce agricultural non-point source pollution and realize agricultural green development. The popularization of green production technology is a systematic project, which requires all parties to strengthen coordination and close cooperation, among which the adoption of green production technology by farmers plays a decisive role.In actual agricultural production and management activities, farmers’ green production technology adoption behavior is often restricted by the lack of information and resources.Social network is an important channel for farmers to obtain all kinds of information, and can alleviate human capital constraints in the process of technology adoption to a certain extent. Therefore, social network has a certain impact on promoting farmers’ green production behavior. In addition,China is a country with intertwined blood, kinship, geographical and industrial relationships and intricate social networks, and there are some differences in the effects of different dimensions of social networks on farmers’ green production behavior. Therefore, clarifying the influence mechanism of social network on farmers’ green production technology adoption behavior is helpful to popularize green production technology and realize green agricultural development. This study follows the idea of "theoretical research--empirical research--countermeasure research",and selects the citrus planting agglomeration area in Sichuan Province as the sample area to carry out the research.Based on social network theory, technology diffusion theory, farmer’s behavior theory and information asymmetry theory, the paper measures farmer’s social network in different dimensions and analyzes the influence path of social network on green production technology adoption behavior. This study used the field survey data of 619 citrus growers in Sichuan Province, and employed the ordered Probit model and the mediation effect model to explore the mechanism of social network in promoting the adoption of green production technology. The main conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)The adoption behavior of green production technology by farmers is not balanced, and the number of citrus growers adopting organic fertilizer application technology, physical pest control technology and waste recycling technology is more, while the number of citrus growers adopting biological pesticide application technology and water-saving irrigation technology is less.(2)Both homogenous social network and heterogeneous social network have significant positive effects on farmers’ green production technology adoption behavior.(3)Mutual help played an intermediary role in the influence of homogeneous social network on farmers’ green production technology adoption behavior, that is,social network promoted farmers’ green production technology adoption behavior through labor support mechanism.(4)Information acquisition plays an intermediary role in the influence of heterogeneous social network on farmers’ green production technology adoption behavior, that is,social network promotes farmers’ green production technology adoption behavior through information acquisition mechanism; In addition, different types and channels of information acquisition also have different effects.Based on the above conclusions, this paper suggests:(1)pay attention to the unbalanced adoption of green production technologies, and focus on promoting green production technologies that are less adopted.(2)Attach importance to the role of social networks in technology diffusion and household adoption behavior, cultivate social networks of different dimensions, activate their resource transfer function, and effectively make use of the advantages of strong interaction and pertinence in social network resource transfer.(3)Relying on the social network among farmers, the construction of agricultural busy mutual assistance organization, through the neighbors help each other to alleviate the problem of difficult to hire workers, expensive.
