| At present, with the influence of various parties, the personality of college students has been freely released, and their self-awareness and gender concepts have been continuously cultivated from a young age. However, the existing furniture in university dormitories not only has outdated dimensions and a lack of aesthetics, but also cannot meet the personalized and differentiated needs of university students. In view of this, from the perspective of gender differences, standardization theory and gender related theories were studied using literature analysis methods.Field research methods were used to investigate the current situation of dormitory furniture, and market research and interview methods were used to obtain the physiological and psychological needs of college students for dormitory furniture. The KJ method,Kano model, and independent sample t-test were used to integrate user needs and analyze gender differences in demand,Finally, based on the optimized furniture size, essential needs of both genders, and high gender differences,a standardized design of dormitory furniture combinations suitable for different genders was carried out.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)By using the method of literature review, the standardization theory and gender related theories were reviewed, and the standardized design method was clarified, which solved the technical problems in the standardized design of dormitory furniture and laid a theoretical foundation for research.Through a review of gender theory, the scientific and up-to-date nature of the research direction has been clarified.(2)Summarized the national standards related to dormitory furniture in the past decade, analyzed the current usage of dormitory furniture, and found that the existing standards for dormitory furniture have relatively broad regulations on furniture size, and there is no gender difference. On site research has found that although different genders of dormitories use the same type of furniture combination internally, there are significant differences in the use of furniture between boys and girls, which confirms the necessity of designing dormitory furniture with gender differences.(3)Taking college students as the research object, the collected needs were analyzed and transformed multiple times using KJ affinity map method,Kano model, and independent sample t-test,and the final needs were ranked by gender difference. The results show that there are a total of 34 differences in demand for dormitory furniture between boys and girls, with 16 having high differences and 18 having medium to low differences.(4)In the demand analysis,it was found that most male students have undifferentiated needs for dormitory furniture, accounting for 76.7%.Female students have more diverse needs for dormitories, with the largest proportion being charm and expectation needs. This indirectly indicates that current dormitory furniture can better meet the needs of male students, but not female students.(5)Based on relevant national standards and human body dimensions, the size of dormitory furniture was optimized, and two sets of furniture sizes suitable for college boys and college girls were obtained.Standardized design was carried out based on the gender differences identified earlier, and two design schemes,A and B,were determined. Each scheme had a dormitory furniture design scheme for boys and a dormitory furniture design scheme for girls. The results show that using a 32 mm system for furniture design has good interchangeability and flexibility, which can meet gender differences and achieve universal interchangeability between panels. |
