A Study On The Design Of Furniture In University Dormitory From The Perspective Of Organizational Behavior

University dormitory,as one of the most frequently used places on campus,has vital influences on university students’ independent living habits,healthy body and mind and interpersonal relationships.However,domestic university dormitories have long been unitary,narrow and rough,which can satisfy the most basic requirements,so that most university students can only live and study in such collective living environment.In the new era,the quality of university students’ family life is gradually improved,and university students’ demands on home life also change.In this context,the demand for new-type dormitory furniture is more urgent.Organizational behavior science is a theory related to management,which solves internal members’ problems through studying behaviors of internal members,thus improving members’ working quality and efficiency,and making the internal organization more harmonious.As a small informal organization,dormitory is an important branch of school organization structure.The research on dormitory should start with the study on human behaviors.Through constantly satisfying different requirements of members in a dormitory,members can get along well with each other and acquire sufficient rest and favorable space for study.It is a new attempt to study the life status of dormitory members in a more systematic way.In this thesis,individual behaviors and collective behaviors of dormitory members in a dormitory were investigated,and then the causes of those behaviors were analyzed based on a questionnaire survey and its summary.Next the furniture in student dormitories of several representative universities was investigated and the spatial layouts and furniture patterns were summarized.The author searched and conclusion for design principles and elements of furniture production,including existing dormitory furniture price,material,furniture structure,color and related dimension data,and how to apply those principles and elements into dormitory furniture to further guide the design of dormitory furniture.On this basis,the author put forward corresponding suggestions and solutions to the problems,offering a new direction for the optimization and improvement of university dormitory.
