Research On The Impact Of The Development Strategy Of The Yangtze River Economic Belt On Green Technology Innovation

The advent of the digital age marks the beginning of a new round of industrial revolution.The previous unsustainable and unhealthy development model at the expense of the environment is no longer suitable for China.The new development concept emerges at the historic moment.The green technology-economy paradigm is a powerful weapon to adapt to China’s future development,and has guiding significance for China to reshape the value chain and occupy the leading position in the world.However,green technology is the direct factor of the green technology-economy paradigm,green technology innovation is the most intuitive embodiment of the paradigm,it is also the cornerstone of the transformation industry model and a important engine for Chinese high-quality economic development.Based on the concept of "promoting the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt under the guidance of jointly focusing on large-scale protection and avoiding large-scale development",this paper selects the Yangtze River Economic Belt as the research object.As one of the three national development strategies,the development strategy of the Yangtze River Economic Belt spans 11 provinces and accounts for more than 40 percent of the total GDP.It is an important economic belt across the deep belly of China,connecting the east and west geographically.On the influence of the spread of the north and south across the country,the overall pattern of regional development plays an important role in China.The strategy has profound significance in promoting the balanced economic development,optimizing the economic development space,constructing the new pattern of all-round opening up.Therefore,on the theoretical basis of the green technology-economy paradigm,this paper makes a theoretical analysis of the influence of the development strategy of the Yangtze River Economic Belt on green technology innovation,and establishes the theoretical mechanism and framework of the influence of the development strategy of the Yangtze River Economic Belt on green technology innovation by using the theory of evolutionary economics and the theory of technology-economy paradigm.Among them,regional urbanization level and energy consumption intensity play a moderating role in the process of green technology innovation influenced by the development strategy of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.With the implementation of the Yangtze River Economic Belt strategy as a quasi-natural experiment,this paper firstly evaluates the net effect of the development strategy of the Yangtze River Economic Belt on regional green technology innovation by using the panel data of 31 provinces in China from 2009 to 2020.Secondly,discussing the influence of the development strategy of the Yangtze River Economic Belt on the heterogeneity of the geographical location of green technology innovation.Finally,this paper focuses on the empirical test of the intermediary effect model on the effect mechanism of the development strategy of the Yangtze River Economic Belt on enterprises’ green technology innovation.The results show that:(1)the development strategy of the Yangtze River Economic Belt has a significant promoting effect on green technology innovation in the regions of the Yangtze River Economic Belt,and a series of robustness tests show that this result is valid;(2)The development strategy of the Yangtze River Economic Belt mainly affects the green technology innovation of the regions of the Yangtze River Economic Belt through the level of industrialization.(3)Urbanization level has a negative moderating effect on green technology innovation and a positive moderating effect on energy consumption intensity.Governments at all levels should continue to promote the implementation and improvement of the development strategy of the Yangtze Economic Belt,strengthen industrial transformation and upgrading,accelerate the building of comprehensive and three-dimensional transport corridors,make solid progress in ecological and environmental protection,and jointly stabilize the overall situation of promoting green technology innovation of enterprises in the Yangtze Economic Belt.Finally,on the basis of the theoretical mechanism and empirical results,based on the national strategy implementation effect experience,combined with the green technology-economic paradigm,the policy suggestions and research prospects for our development paths and directions are put forward.
