The rapid development of tourism not only makes an important contribution to China’s economy, but also enriches people’s spiritual and cultural life. However, behind the booming development of tourism, the increasing number of tourists also brings great pressure to the management construction of tourist places. The uncivilized behavior of some tourists and the lack of targeted management methods in scenic spots have become important reasons for the current hindrance of tourism development. How to help scenic spots improve management methods, promote tourists’ attention to the ecological construction of tourist places, and actively implement environmentally responsible behaviors of tourists to help the sustainable development of scenic spots has become a hot topic in the field of tourism studies.Based on this, this study takes Niutou Mountain National Forest Park,Fuchun River National Forest Park and Tongling Mountain National Forest Park in Zhejiang Province as research case sites and constructs a theoretical model consisting of environmental education perception, empathy with nature, tourism involvement, interpersonal trust and tourists’ environmentally responsible behavior to study the influencing factors of tourists’ environmentally responsible behavior. The findings were as follows:(1)Self-guided environmental education perceptions significantly and positively influenced tourists’ environmentally responsible behavior, but otherguided environmental education perceptions did not have a significant effect on tourists’ environmentally responsible behavior.(2)Empathy with nature has a significant positive influence on tourists’ environmentally responsible behavior and plays a significant mediating role in the influence path of environmental education perception on tourists’ environmentally responsible behavior.(3)Empathy with nature significantly and positively influences tourism involvement in symbolism, pleasure and risk.(4)Both tourism involvement symbolism and pleasure significantly and positively influence tourists’ environmentally responsible behavior, while riskiness does not have a significant effect on tourists’ environmentally responsible behavior.(5)In the path of nature empathy on tourists’ environmental responsibility behavior, tourism involvement symbolism and pleasure play a significant mediating role, while riskiness does not have a significant mediating role.(6)The effect of high levels of interpersonal trust weakening natural empathy on tourists’ environmentally responsible behavior.(7)Male tourists’ perceptions of environmental education, empathy with nature, tourism involvement, interpersonal trust, and tourists’ environmentally responsible behavior were lower than those of females overall.(8)The higher the education level of tourists, the stronger the perception of environmental education perception, empathy with nature, tourism involvement, interpersonal trust and environmentally responsible behavior of tourists.(9)Older tourists had lower perceptions of the riskiness of tourist involvement and higher perceptions of tourists’ environmentally responsible behavior compared to lower ages.(10)The higher the income of tourists, the stronger the perception of environmental education, empathy with nature, tourism involvement, interpersonal trust and environmentally responsible behavior of tourists. This study expands the influence paths of tourists’ environmentally responsible behaviors and provides suggestions to promote the implementation of environmentally responsible behaviors by tourists and to help assist scenic area managers in targeting and improving existing management methods, planning tourism projects rationally, and promoting sustainable development of scenic areas.
