At present, facing profound changes and a complex international situation unseen in a century,China has proposed to build a new development pattern in which major domestic cycles play the main role and both domestic and international cycles reinforce each other,so as to ensure economic stability and seek progress while maintaining stability.Regional market integration as a basic support to speed up the construction of a new development pattern,is conducive to break the regional barriers, explicitly and implicitly promotes inter-city free flow of production factors and technology spillovers, power in very large scale market potential advantages and domestic demand, accelerate the development of regional economy by the extensive mode to the connotation of green development model transformation. As the sample and source of China’s economic green transformation, the Development direction of the Yangtze River Economic Belt plays a demonstration and driving role in other regions of China. Therefore, the study on the impact of market integration of the three major urban agglomerations of the Yangtze River Economic Belt on urban green development has important theoretical significance and practical value. In this paper,by combing domestic and foreign literature research, firstly, the basic theory, connotation and basic characteristics of market integration are briefly elaborated, and the way and mechanism of market integration affecting urban green development are analyzed.Secondly, the paper measures the level of market integration and urban green development in the three urban agglomerations of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and analyzes the evolution characteristics of market integration and economic greening of the three urban agglomerations respectively. Finally, based on the panel data of 41 cities in the Yangtze River Delta,28 cities in the middle Reaches of the Yangtze River, and 21 prefecture-level cities in the Pan-Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration from 2006 to 2019,we empirically test the impact of market integration on urban green development. It is concluded that :(1)the level of market integration has an obvious driving effect on urban green development, and the effect of urban agglomeration in Yangtze river delta is stronger than that in the middle reaches of Yangtze river and pan-chengdu-chongqing urban agglomeration;(2)The effect of market integration on green development in border cities of the three urban agglomerations is better than that in non-border cities; The green transformation effect of market integration of central cities in Yangtze River Delta is higher than that of non-central cities, while the green transformation effect of market integration of non-central cities in the middle reaches of Yangtze River and Pan-Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration is higher than that of central cities. The integration of urban markets with high and low environmental regulations in the Yangtze River Delta and the middle Triangle has a positive impact on the green development of cities, while the integration of urban markets with high environmental regulations in pan-Chengdu-Chongqing can significantly promote the green economic development of cities.(3)With the level of green innovation and human capital as threshold variables, the regression results show that market integration has a more significant role in promoting the development of urban green economy under the condition of higher green innovation and human capital. Finally, this paper puts forward overall suggestions from strengthening regional linkage, consolidating green foundation, building green innovation sharing platform, and creating a new pattern of "two-way interaction",and eliminates travel alienation countermeasures according to the reality of the three urban agglomerations.
