As an important part of the national economy,medium-sized enterprises play a vital role in stabilizing economic growth and promoting economic and social development.And as an important part of the real economy,the manufacturing industry is of great significance to the development of the national economy.In the context of the intensification of the current wave of anti-globalization,the global supply chain problems caused by the COVID-19 have not been effectively solved,and the industrial transformation and upgrading are imminent,the manufacturing SME,which has an irreplaceable position in economic and social development,has been seriously challenged due to its limited capital size,relatively weak market power,and its ability to resist risks and survive.How to improve the competitiveness of small and SME by improving performance management under the condition of relatively limited resources has become a key problem to be solved.Therefore,this thesis is committed to discussing the performance evaluation index system of small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises,so as to help them gain competitive advantage in the harsh market environment and achieve sustainable development.As enhancing performance appraisal has become a key approach to improve performance management,it is even more important for manufacturing SME that rely heavily on resources to use scientific and efficient performance appraisals to obtain quality resources that promote healthy development of the company.Although the existing research on performance appraisal-related contents has formed rich research results and practical achievements,there is still room for exploring the research on the optimization of performance appraisal index system for manufacturing SME.Based on that,this study integrates literature research,key performance indicator,analytic hierarchy process,and theory of goal congruence to select a representative company A as the research object,based on the characteristics of the current manufacturing SME and the market environment.It explores how to improve the effectiveness of performance appraisal by analyzing the current situation,problems and causes of performance appraisal,optimizing the performance appraisal index system as well as developing appraisal schemes and appraisal implementation guarantees,so as to improve the development momentum of SME.This thesis,based on the real situation of manufacturing SME,puts forward the hypothetical concept of performance appraisal optimization,deeply analyzes the background,theoretical significance and practical significance of the research on performance appraisal index system of domestic SME,systematically reviews the research results and literature on performance appraisal of Chinese and foreign scholars,and multi-dimensionally studies the development trend and research status of performance appraisal at home and abroad,and this thesis determines its research content and framework structure accordingly.It,based on the research results of experts and scholars,combines the actual situation of the company,designs,distributes as well as collects questionnaires,analyzes the current performance appraisal methods,appraisal indexes,etc.,sorts out the existing problems,and uses analytic hierarchy process and other data analysis.On the basis of the characteristics,scope of use,advantages and disadvantages of the current commonly used relevant theories and research methods,this thesis combines the actual situation of the company,scientifically selects the key performance appraisal method and other methods,puts forward the factors related to the performance appraisal affecting Company A,and determines the performance appraisal indexes and weights of Company A through analytic hierarchy process and other methods.It also designs assessment schemes as well as provides guarantees for the implementation of the new performance appraisal index system,and standardizes and improves the company’s organizational structure and rules and regulations and finally conducts validity analysis.Based on the above,the findings of the study both make theoretical contributions to the study of SME performance appraisal index system optimization and provide reference for promoting healthy and sustainable development of manufacturing SME,with rich theoretical significance and practical value.
