Facing the severe situation of global warming and climate deterioration,in order to achieve low-carbon and green development,China announced at the UN General Assembly in September 2020 that it would strive to achieve "peak carbon dioxide" by2030 and "carbon neutrality" by 2060.It is clearly stated in the 14 th Five-Year Plan that we will promote green transformation of production and lifestyle,rationally allocate energy and improve energy efficiency,increase the use of clean energy,reduce the use of coal,optimize the energy mix,and achieve energy consumption per unit of GDP and CO2 emission reduction by 13.5% and 18% respectively by 2025 compared with 2020.At the same time,the current world is in the wave of information revolution,digital economy has become an important engine to promote economic development,and digital industrialization,as the basic and pilot part of the digital economy,has been steadily improved in recent years,and its internal structure has been continuously optimized,derived and extended more abundant connotation.Digital industrialization takes digital technology and data elements as the core.Compared with traditional industries that rely on fossil energy,the industries formed by digital technology and data elements industrialization and the new industries,business forms and models derived from them are environmentally friendly and belong to green and low-carbon industries.In addition,digital industrialization can promote digital technology innovation and industrial structure optimization,so as to reduce carbon emissions.Hence,it is of theoretical and realistic significance to go deeply into the influence of digital industrialization on carbon emission under the dual background of accelerating the promotion of digital industrialization and realizing the goal of "double carbon".First of all,this paper introduces the background and significance of studying the impact of digital industrialization on carbon emissions,systematically combs the connotation definition,measurement method,development model and path of digital industrialization,the influencing factors of carbon emissions and relevant literature on the impact of digital industrialization on carbon emissions,and analyzes the impact of digital industrialization itself on carbon emissions and its possible influencing mechanism.Secondly,based upon the interprovincial panel data from 2010 to 2020,this paper constructs a digital industrialization index system,calculates the level of digital industrialization of each province by using the entropy method,and then calculates the carbon emissions of each province by using the IPCC inventory method,and analyzes the status quo and change trend of the two.At the same time,this paper constructs a two-way fixed-effect panel model,empirically analyzes the influence of digital industrialization on carbon emissions and its influence mechanism,conducts robustness test,endogeneity test and regional heterogeneity analysis,and draws the following conclusions:(1)The digital industrialization level of our country has been steadily increasing,but there are differences among various places.The eastern region is the most developed,followed by the central region and finally the western region;In terms of growth rate,the digital industrialization level in the central region is growing fastest,followed by the western region,and finally the eastern region.(2)There are also regional differences in carbon emissions.Shandong,Hebei,Shanxi,Inner Mongolia and Jiangsu have more carbon emissions and their growth is fast.(3)Benchmark regression results show that digital industrialization can significantly reduce carbon emissions,and this conclusion is still valid after the robustness test and endogeneity test.(4)There is regional heterogeneity in the carbon emission reduction effect of digital industrialization,which can better play its carbon emission reduction effect in the central and western regions.(5)Mechanism analysis results show that digital industrialization can reduce carbon emissions by promoting digital technology innovation and industrial structure optimization.Finally,in light of the conclusions drawn,the corresponding policy recommendations are brought forward.
