In the context of today’s increasingly frequent international trade, the rapid development of the maritime transportation industry has also greatly increased the risk of marine collision accidents. Therefore,it is necessary to analyze the causes of marine collision accidents, explore the mechanism of marine collision accidents, identify the main causes of accidents, master the key aspects of maritime traffic safety management, reduce the marine collision accidents caused by human factors, improve and maritime traffic human factors, and improve the overall management level of maritime safety.Firstly, considering the characteristics of human factors in marine collision accidents and starts from the HFACS analysis model, combining the characteristics of "Human – Ship –Environment – Management" of marine collision accidents, author establishes a marine collision accidents analysis model that meets the characteristics of marine traffic safety.Further, using the accident investigation reports of 162 vessels as the data base, the statistical analysis methods of chi-square inspection and odds ratio analysis were used to deeply analyze the interactions and effects of human factors among different indicators at each stratum, statistical analysis yielded 19 highly correlated human factor accident causation chains for marine collision accidents, explaining the causal relationship of human factors between the upper and lower stratums of the HFACS model for marine collision accidents.Next, grey relation analysis and grey dynamics model in grey system theory are chosen to analyze the relation degree of the human factor data obtained from statistics, and the relation degree order of 4 stratums and 18 human factors in the HFACS model of marine collision accidents is obtained and explained accordingly;and grey dynamics model is established to verify the accidents vessel volume for the indicators with high correlation degree obtained from grey relation analysis to prove the reasonableness and usability of grey relation analysis. Finally, based on the comprehensive analysis results derived from the chi-square inspection and odds ratio analysis and grey relation analysis, corresponding suggestions are made from multiple perspectives in order to effectively avoid various risks affecting navigation safety, prevent the aggravation of marine accidents and ensure the safe development of the shipping industry. This article researches the human factors of marine collision accidents more systematically, combines qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis to analyze the causal relationship between human factors and the degree of influence of various human factors on marine collision accidents,so as to put forward the rationalization suggestion to prevent marine collision accidents are proposed in the hope that they can attract the attention of the shipping community and improve maritime traffic safety management.
