Research On Hanfu Movement Under The Trend Of Network Nationalism

At the turn of the 21st century,under the transformation of internet communication,the transformation and changes of nationalist concepts have spawned a trend of thought of internet nationalism,which has become a new social and political phenomenon.Internet users have concentrated on expressing collectivized national emotions on the Internet and thus formed a certain force.Taking this opportunity,a social movement directed towards national rejuvenation and cultural revival,the Hanfu Movement,was born.The Hanfu movement takes clothing as the starting point for its revival,striving to promote the Chinese national spirit and excellent traditional culture through Hanfu and restore the national self-confidence of Chinese people.The ideological trend of network nationalism is not only the background of the birth of the Hanfu movement,but also has a profound impact on the development of the Hanfu movement and promoted the changes in the representation of the Hanfu movement.Deeply exploring the Hanfu movement under the trend of network nationalism has practical significance for a deeper understanding of the Hanfu movement and promoting the Hanfu movement to serve social and cultural construction.This study is divided into three parts.The first part comprehensively reveals the relationship between the trend of network nationalism and the process of the Han Suit movement by reviewing the development process of the Han Suit movement over the past twenty years.Network nationalism is the starting point of the rise of the Hanfu movement.The initiators of the Hanfu movement used the network to express "nationalist" views,gathering the first batch of Hanfu revival groups.The continuous social interaction has expanded the scale of the Hanfu movement group,and the Hanfu movement has evolved into different stages of development with the development of online nationalism.The second and third parts take the "Mingyuan Hanfu Society" of Nanjing Forestry University as the research object.Using in-depth interviews and observation methods,they conducted in-depth interviews with 17 members of the Hanfu Society.They conducted a participatory observation on the weixin group of the Mingyuan Hanfu Society for a period of 9 months.Combining emotional theory and social representation theory,they explored the driving role of network nationalism trends in the dissemination and development of the Hanfu movement,To reveal the changes in the meaning of the Hanfu movement in its long-term development.Research has found that national identity and ethnic identity are inherent emotional identities rooted in the hearts of members of the Hanfu movement.Network nationalism induces "sadness and indignation" among members of the Hanfu movement through the construction of traumatic memories of national history,constructs the emotional identity of the Hanfu movement group,and enables members of the Hanfu movement group to generate "common will" and deeply participate in the promotion of the progress of each stage of the Hanfu movement.At the same time,as the subject and object of emotional mobilization,the members of the Hanfu movement have both rationality and sensibility,and have shown approval or refutation reactions in the face of emotional mobilization,making the Hanfu movement exhibit a complex and changeable movement situation.As the main body of sports,Han Fu members’ "common consciousness" creates the representation of Han Fu sports.The representation shows phased characteristics due to social interaction,resulting in new turbulence in three aspects:dominant representation,unconstrained representation,and controversial representation.The decorative attributes of Han clothing have replaced the original ethnic attributes and become a new dominant representation of the Han clothing movement.Abandoning the original idea of "Han Nationalism" and using Hanfu as a cultural carrier for patriotic expression,demonstrating the maintenance of the country and nation by members of the Hanfu movement has become a new and unrestrained representation of the Hanfu movement.Internationally,Han Fu sports groups and non Han Fu sports groups hold opposing views on the origin and attribution of Han Fu,and this divergence of views on Han Fu has become a newcontroversial representation of Han Fu sports.
