A Comparative Study On The Ecological Crisis Thoughts Of Agger And O’Connor

Since the beginning of the 20 th century,against the background of highly developed society brought about by the efficient development of science and technology,human beings have been immersed in the joy of rapid economic growth,ignoring the seriousness of the ecological crisis,and ecological issues have become global issues.China adheres to the development path of production development,affluent life and ecological livability.Ecological issues are crucial in the process of achieving Chinese path to modernization.In the face of increasingly severe ecological conditions,various countries,ethnic groups,and social strata,including China,have been painstakingly seeking new methods to solve ecological problems,resulting in the gradual formation of ecological Marxism supported by Marxism.This article selects Agger and O’Connor as typical representatives to interpret,analyze,and compare their ideological content,and carry out a comparative study of their ecological crisis thoughts,providing some guidance for solving ecological problems.Through five chapters of writing,this article explains the issue of character comparison,which has received little attention at home and abroad,studies their respective ideological systems,clarifies homogeneity and heterogeneity,and explores their attribution,as well as the Chinese scheme.Specifically,the introduction clarifies the purpose and significance of the topic,combs domestic and foreign research results from the current research status of the ecological crisis thoughts of Agel and O’Connor and their comparative research status,explores research gaps,and clarifies research methods and innovation points.The first chapter clarifies the ecological crisis thoughts of Agger and O’Connor,highlighting their theoretical characteristics as concisely as possible.They propose to develop ecology to save the global economy and ecosystem from self-destruction.The second and third chapters,as the core parts of this article,use a lot of pen and ink to analyze the homogeneity and heterogeneity of the ecological crisis thoughts of the two scholars,and explore their reasons.Firstly,homogeneity is discussed from the perspective of the relationship between Marx and Engels’ thought and ecology,the relationship between capitalist system and ecological crisis,and the relationship between science and technology and ecological crisis.Secondly,the attribution of homogeneity is analyzed from the perspective of common realistic motives and common ideological origins.Thirdly,heterogeneity is derived from improving the historical materialism approach,criticizing the ecological crisis of capitalism,and researching perspectives.Finally,the attribution of heterogeneity is divided into different personal experiences and influenced by different thoughts.The fourth chapter makes a dialectical and reasonable evaluation of the ecological crisis thoughts of Agger and O’Connor.Based on the previous analysis,the fifth chapter summarizes the enlightening significance for the ideological and practical construction of ecological civilization in China.
