The Study Of O’connor’s Ecologial View And The Contemporary Enlightenment

Since twentieth Century,with the development of productive forces,it brought us a lot of material wealth but also brought us various environmental problems.It means human to do activities on the environment and then ecological became imbalance.These ecological problems directly or indirectly affect the survival of mankind.At present,China is also facing a series of ecological problems,such as serious environmental pollution and ecological destruction.In this context,many scholars and abroad have begun to explore new theories from different angles to explain and solve these ecological problems,and put forward many valuable views,and then the Ecological Marxism rised.There are many Eco Marx scholars with different views.One of them named James O’Connor’s,his ecological thought is particularly prominent.This paper used the method of literature review,access reading a large number of literature about O’Conner’s ecological thought.I discovered the main ideological sources of O Conner’s ecological view is Marx’s theory of human and nature and the early eco ecological view after analyzing.O’Conner put forward his ecological thoughts according innovation.O’Conner’s ecological view mainly includes: one nature,culture,labor three-in-one thought;two capital accumulation is the root cause of ecological crisis and economic crisis;three put forward the ecological socialism is a way to resolve the ecological crisis of capitalismAnalyzed O’Conner’s ecological view based on the basic position of Marx’s method and perspective.I found O’Conner’s ecological view had some limitations,such as: the understanding deviation of Marx’s view of nature;the critique of the ecological crisis is not thorough;his thought of ecological socialism with utopia.But O’Conner’s ecological view also contains many valuable thoughts,including nature,culture,labor three-in-one thoughts for further interpretation of Marx’s theory about relationship between human and nature,and provides a theoretical reference rich historical materialism;capital accumulation is the root cause of ecological crisis and economic crisis theory,broaden the Marx critique of capitalism from the perspective of ecological socialism road;put forward by O’Conner,provides a solution for reference to solve the ecological crisis of capitalism.With the development of market economy,China is faced with a series of ecological problems,which need to be solved urgently.Based on the analysis of O Conner’s ecological view,and put forward some measures to construct the ecological civilization in China,such as: improve the ecological consciousness of citizens,establish a healthy consumption concept,establish and improve the ecological protection system,promote the development of scientific and technological level,develop circular economy and promote sustainable development and then promote the sustainable development of China’s ecological.
