Research On The Innovative Design Of Xiangxi Blue Calico Decorative Pattern Based On Fractal Theory

As a traditional handmade printing and dyeing product in Hunan,Xiangxi Blue Print has distinctive artistic characteristics.Its decorative patterns contain blessings,good luck,and other beautiful connotations,which embody people’s strong feelings about family and country and their aspirations for a better life.However,the inheritance and development of the Xiangxi blueprint fabric are poor,and public attention is low.The article takes Xiangxi blue-printed cloth decorative patterns as the research object,takes the new era to expand the development path as the research goal,takes the fractal theory as the research support,explores the innovation of Xiangxi blue-printed cloth decorative patterns in the new era context,and aims to fully stimulate the contemporary value of Xiangxi blue-printed cloth decorative patterns.Firstly,based on the concept and characteristics of fractal theory and fractal art’s concept and aesthetic characteristics,we analyze the embodiment and application of fractal art in traditional patterns and modern designs and propose the feasibility of using fractal theory to innovate Hunan blue-printed cloth decorative patterns.Secondly,the two core elements of Xiangxi blue-printed fabric decorative patterns are systematically analyzed,namely cultural elements and aesthetic elements,among which cultural features include regional culture,ethnic culture,skill culture,life culture,etc.;aesthetic elements include composition,form,color,continuity,and expression of patterns.Secondly,a horizontal comparison is made among four regions of Hunan Xiangxi,Jiangsu Nantong,Hubei Tianmen,and Shandong Lanling in terms of the content of the decorative patterns,the formal characteristics of the patterns,the expression of the connotation of the patterns,and the derivative application of the patterns,pointing out the characteristics of the patterns of Xiangxi blue printed cloth and the limitations of the development of the application of the patterns.Again,from the traditional decorative patterns of Xiangxi blue-printed cloth,the fractal dimension of its representative patterns is measured by data analysis,and the fractal characteristics of Xiangxi blue-printed cloth decorative patterns are found.The design principle of combining the two and the design method of "generation" and "reconstruction" is proposed based on this discovery.Finally,the generative method of fractal theory is applied to the innovative design practice of Xiangxi blue-printed cloth decorative patterns for the design of daily necessities,and the rationality of the combination is verified by issuing the feedback questionnaire of design practice.The Xiangxi blue-printed fabric pattern design based on fractal theory is proven to be entirely feasible.The traditional Xiangxi blue-printed fabric patterns are formatted and stereotyped,and the conventional ways are single in variety and lack diversity.Using fractal theory to design blueprint patterns can optimize the design mode of this classic pattern,not only can create a new pattern design method realized by digital means and generate brilliant and colorful fractal diagrams but also can make the traditional pattern design enter the new era of digital strategy,which realizes the perfect combination of art and technology.The article uses interdisciplinary research,literature research,image analysis,comparative analysis,and other research methods to expand Xiangxi’s blue-printed fabric decorative pattern innovation design research ideas.Xiangxi’s blue-printed fabric decorative pattern innovation design is more reasonable and accurate.The article introduces fractal theory into the research field of Xiangxi blue-printed fabric decorative pattern design,which is conducive to promoting the creative transformation and innovative development of the excellent Chinese traditional pattern culture,with sufficient theoretical and practical significance,and also provides reference and reference for other similar types of blue-printed fabric heritage research,creating a new era of intelligent art pattern creation.
