The Application Of Nantong Blue Calico Pattern In Food Packaging Design

Nantong blue calico is a traditional Chinese folk arts and crafts printing and dyeing in Jiangsu,the Song Dynasty known as the drug patch cloth,the Ming Dynasty as the pouring cloth,2006 has been included in the national intangible cultural heritage.Today,with the accelerated pace of industrialization,the traditional handicraft is disappearing,which indicates that the technology and culture will be forgotten by human beings.The artistic value of Nantong blue calico is mainly reflected in its production technology and unique traditional blue and white pattern.These traditional patterns have a simple and elegant cultural charm,which can be regarded as unique in Chinese folk art.The author thinks that the traditional pattern of innovation should be applied together with the new form and attitude into modern people's life,extensive activation of these patterns and to expand its application,which will make the traditional culture better inheritance and development.This paper focuses on the Nantong traditional blue calico pattern classification,composition form and cultural connotation and other aspects of research and analysis,summarized,and packaging design of these patterns through innovative design application in Nantong local specialty food in the West Pavilion cuibing.On the one hand to be able to reflect the product itself a good brand image,and thus play a role in publicity.On the other hand,it is also the carrier of the traditional culture of Nantong blue calico,so that the use value of the traditional folk art has been sublimated.Through this research and design,the author has a deeper understanding of nantong blue prints.Based on the design method and theory,the diversity of the pattern of nantong blue prints is enriched and expanded.It also promotes the fusion of food packaging design and local culture.
