Design And Application Of Tianmen Blue Calico Plant Pattern In Creative Women’s Wear

Tianmen blue calico is a product of the handmade era and one of the provincial intangible cultural heritage in Hubei.The Tianmen Blue Calico,which integrates practicality and decoration,was once listed as the grandest exhibit of the World Exposition.At the same time,it is also an important foreign trade export product of Hubei Province,which drives economic development.At present,the Tianmen blue calico pattern basically continues the style and characteristics passed down during the Ming and Qing dynasties,with plant patterns in the majority,exquisite composition,diverse forms and rich changes.It is full of oriental cultural characteristics and regional cultural feelings,reflecting the traditional customs of Tianmen area,the aesthetic taste of the folks,and the common pursuit.Today,as a representative of blue calico in the central region,clothing and accessories made of intangible cultural heritage blue calico from Jingchu Textile are attracting more and more people who pursue high taste.Therefore,the in-depth study of the Tianmen blue calico pattern and how to give traditional elements fashion carriers to make it more in line with people’s aesthetic consumption concept is becoming the focus of research and attention of many scholars and design.Especially in the "Chinese Traditional Crafts Revitalization Plan",and the implementation of the intangible cultural heritage of Indigo dyeing to promote the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy,it will play a greater role.Therefore,this project takes the Tianmen blue calico plant pattern as the research starting point,and on the basis of in-depth understanding of the connotation and cultural characteristics of the pattern,uses the method of pattern extraction and pattern redesign to explore the design value of the Tianmen blue calico plant pattern creative women’s clothing.Through field investigation,literature research,pattern analysis and other methods,the author discusses from four aspects: First,the theoretical study of Tianmen blue calico pattern.Summarize and find that Jingchu culture has a profound influence on the pattern construction,the superior geographical location promotes the development of the pattern,and the fusion of folk culture enriches the types of patterns.Combining field investigation and pattern analysis,it focuses on the research on the artistic characteristics of the Tianmen blue calico plant pattern,and analyzes and discusses the four aspects of plant pattern classification,color characteristics,composition form,and symbolic meaning.Secondly,extract and save some incomplete patterns as an example.Explore the methods of redesigning plant patterns and redesigning expression forms,and believe that the reduction,addition,design reorganization,digital printing,embroidery and other expressions of patterns can be used to achieve pattern innovation.Then,through the design principles and application methods of patterns in clothing,through case analysis and design experiments,the theoretical guidance and design basis for subsequent research are summarized.Finally,the creative women’s clothing was used as a carrier for design practice,combined with pattern design methods and expression forms,and on the basis of conforming to the design principles and application methods,the innovative plant patterns were applied to clothing in the form of digital printing,which proved the feasibility of the subject,on the one hand,satisfies the aesthetic style of modern people,and on the other hand makes the Tianmen blue calico cloth glow more charming.
