Research On Women’s Clothing With "Upside Down Big Sleeves" In The Republic Of China Based On The Perspective Of Traditional Innovation

During the period of the Republic of China,with the influence of Western aggression and changes and development in the fields of politics,economy,education and culture,Chinese women’s clothing also moved towards modernization with the emancipation of ideas.Under the influence of the eclectic cultural environment,the women’s clothing of the Republic of China was not only the fashion pioneer of modern women’s clothing,but also an important carrier of Chinese women’s ideological liberation.Women’s style."Upside-down big sleeves" originated from the "civilized new clothes" trend that became popular under the influence of the May Fourth Movement and the New Culture Movement.Although it has only prevailed for more than ten years,it not only implies the independent thought of women’s liberation,but also relies on its unique artistic beauty has become an eye-catching stroke in the history of modern clothing.The popularity and transformation of its sleeve shape,collar shape,pattern,trim,material,etc.,whether in aesthetic or spiritual sense,still has certain inspiration and reference value for contemporary women’s clothing design.This article takes one of the representative styles of women’s clothing in the Republic of China-"inverted big sleeves" as the research object,analyzes the examples of "inverted big sleeves" women’s clothing collected in various museums,as well as various "inverted sleeves" presented in periodicals and old photos in the Republic of China period.Research on the pictures of "Double Sleeves",compare the sleeve,hem,collar,trim,pattern,buttons,materials,etc.of various "upside-down" women’s clothing,summarize and analyze the development process and main aesthetic characteristics of "upside-down" women’s clothing;Then,starting from the activation and innovative design of "upside-down sleeves" women’s clothing elements,taking the basic constituent elements of "upside-down sleeves" as the starting point,it analyzes the design of local Chinese-style brands in China,and summarizes the design methods;finally,the design practice is carried out.,to explore the possibility of activating the aesthetic elements of "inverted big sleeves" in contemporary women’s clothing design,and hope to obtain a practical plan with certain reference significance for the activation and application of "inverted big sleeves" women’s clothing in the Republic of China.
