Effectively coordinating the dynamic balance among population,economy,resources and environment is an inevitable requirement for high-quality development.The report points out that the long-term way to achieve sustainable development is to establish a green and low-carbon economic system and promotea a comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development.The 14 th Five-Year Plan of Shanxi Province proposes to build an important green ecological barrier in North China and build an ecological protection model for resource-based economic provinces.The construction of low-carbon ecological system and green ecological barrier further reflects the importance of studying the relationship between population,economy,resources and environment.As a large resource province,Shanxi Province is not only the "water tower" of the North China Plain,but also an important energy supply base.Due to its advantages in resource endowment and special geographical characteristics,a series of environmental pollution and destruction problems will inevitably occur in the process of its economic development and population growth.If the environmental problems further ferment will have a negative impact on its economic development and residents’ living standards.Therefore,starting from the three systems of population,economy,resources and environment,to explore and analyze the dynamic coordination degree of population,economy,resources and enviroment system in Shanxi Province will bring certain help to the high-quality development of this province.Firstly,the research progress at home and abroad is described,and the status quo of population,economy,resources and environment in Shanxi Province is analyzed in detail.On this basis,the evaluation index system of population-economy-resources and environment coupling coordination degree in Shanxi Province is constructed following the principles of operability,relevance,comprehensiveness and systematization.Then,the entropy weight method and the coupling coordination degree model were used to analyze the obtained data,resources and environment in 11 cities of Shanxi Province(2000-2020)was analyzed.Thirdly,in order to explore the constraints of coupling development of each city in the research period,the Arc GIS10.5 spatial visualization was used to analyze and explore the development status of subsystems of each city in the key period.Finally,on the basis of the above research,this paper proposes some countermeasures to optimize the coordinated development of population,economy,resources and environment in Shanxi Province.The study found:(1)From 2000 to 2020,the coupled coordinated development level of population,economy,resources and environment in Shanxi Province experienced four stages: gentle growth period,accelerating growth period,fluctuating growth period and stable growth period,and the coupling coordination level changed from unbalanced decline to coordinated development.During the study period,the province achieved good results in terms of economic growth,population development and environmental protection.The overall development is in a good direction.(2)Both the population development level and the economic development level of Shanxi Province showed a development trend of rapid growth,and the fluctuation trajectory of the development level of resources and environment experienced a change from "zigzag change" to "steady growth".(3)In the past 21 years,the coupling coordination level of population,economy,resources and environment in Shanxi Province was obviously on the rise,and the coupling coordination development level of each city was benign and good.The overall prospect of each system and its coupling coordination was clear,which mainly showed the evolution characteristics of gradually surrounding the central part from the two ends and moving from south to north to east.(4)The unbalanced development of subsystems has been greatly improved,showing the evolution law of "disordered-ordered,synchronous lag-local lag".The spatial differentiation within the development of the system is obvious,and the distribution pattern is similar to the distribution pattern of the coupling coordination level of the three systems,that is,the two ends are better than the central part except Taiyuan,and the west is higher than the central part,showing an east-west "U-shaped" distribution pattern,with a tendency to spread from the two ends to the central part.
