Contemporary society has impacted on citizens’ national identity,which is the psychological basis for maintaining the survival and development of the country as well as an integral part of students’ comprehensive literacy in Higher Vocational colleges.This study explores the concept of the national identity,measures the level of the national identity of higher vocational students and its school influencing factors,and puts forward suggestions to improve the level of national identity of higher vocational students.The conclusion of this study provides the basis for the academic circles and higher vocational educators to understand the national identity level of higher vocational students,and provides effective ideas for the improvement of national identity level of higher vocational students.This study uses literature research and questionnaire survey.On the basis of literature review,national identity is defined as the combination of political identity and national cultural identity.On such basis,the value and influencing factors of national identity construction of Vocational College students is analyzed.Then factors that affect school students’ national identity including national identity curriculum,national activities and school cultural atmosphere are investigated.Then,the questionnaire of national identity of students in Higher Vocational Colleges and the questionnaire of school influencing factors have been compiled.Pre-test has proved that the questionnaires have good reliability and validity.After the formal implementation of the tests,the following conclusions are made:the national identity level of vocational college students is high,and their national cultural identity is significantly higher than political identity;the national identity level of vocational college students shows significant differences in different grades,different political features,different ethnic groups and different majors.National identity curriculum,national activities and school cultural atmosphere have significant effects on the national identity level of students in Higher Vocational colleges.The development of national identity activities needs to be strengthened.The countermeasures include changing the indoctrinating mode of national identity education,clarifying the key groups of national identity promotion,attaching importance to the goal of students’ national identity promotion,enriching national identity curriculum resources and strengthening the development of national identity activities.There are still some shortcomings in this paper.The questionnaire was designed from the concept to the concept,and failed to combine the actual characteristics of higher vocational students.In the questionnaire samples,there are some problems such as too small sampling range,incomplete random sample selection,and unbalanced sample structure.In terms of countermeasures and suggestions,we can further learn from foreign experience.
