With the continuous extension and penetration of the power of the media, the media has gradually become an important role in the process of children's identity construction, and the media has become one of the main sources of identity for migrant children. The development of the Internet has transformed the identity of migrant children from passive decoders to disseminators of information.Migrant children,as a class of marginalized groups in the city, bear the double label of two vulnerable groups of children and floating population. They wander between the city and the countryside, unable to feel a sense of belonging to the unfamiliar city, and gradually move away from the original city.Familiar countryside. When the inner emotional needs cannot be met in real life, the media becomes the witness of its self-shaping,and the presentation of migrant children in it can often reflect the process of their self-consciousness awareness and development.Based on Goffman's "self-presentation" theoretical perspective, this study analyzes the self-presentation of migrant children on social media platforms. This article takes migrant children from S Primary School in Lanzhou City as the research object, and regards social media platforms as their "performance stage".First, the socio-demographic characteristics of migrant children in the primary school and their social media usage were investigated;secondly, the differences in performance roles, performance stages, and self-presentation strategies of migrant children were analyzed, and the findings from the study were analyzed.issues are suggested. After sorting out the existing research results of many scholars, the author studies the self-presentation in the social media of migrant children in Lanzhou City by combining in-depth interviews, questionnaires and participatory observation and other research methods. The study found that, first, migrant children use media for learning and entertainment, and their dependence on media is positively correlated with grades, but the correlation is limited.Second: the self-presentation of migrant children on social media platforms is constrained by their families, platforms, etc.,and there is a contradiction in dealing with online platforms. On the one hand, they hope to expand interpersonal relationships and gain attention from others through social media.Media platforms shape idealized self;on the other hand, they are influenced by their families and have reservations about platforms and are wary.Third: the authenticity of migrant children's self-presentation in social media is high, but the "authenticity" is often displayed to members in the relationship network of acquaintances, and certain strategies are often used to avoid information exposure to strangers.
