With the rapid development of mobile media,short video platforms led by Douyin have been integrated into people's lives.The emergence of male beauty videos has broken the traditional gender perspective,and male beauty bloggers' free expression through their bodies influences the audience's aesthetic standards and consumption behavior,but at the same time,this way of self-presentation by bloggers has also been made the object of consumption.In this paper,from the perspective of body communication,we use literature,textual analysis and survey methods to select ten representative male beauty bloggers' videos as the objects of textual analysis and survey the audience's attitude toward male beauty videos through 450 online questionnaires.Through these methods to explore how male beauty bloggers reach self-presentation through is body communication,and the value of the body in this performance to examine,the main body of this paper is divided into four parts.In the first part,I clarify the basic theory of body communication by combing through the literature,starting from the issue of body subjectivity in order to link the body with communication,and combing through the relevant literature of short videos to determine the research framework of this thesis.In the second part,the author combines the data of sampled videos and users' attitudes through textual analysis and survey method to analyze whether there is a connection between the information conveyed by body symbols in male beauty videos and the information received by the audience,and to explain the image construction of male beauty bloggers in four aspects: environment of image construction,body landscape,discourse symbols and aesthetics.The author finds that beauty bloggers influence users through remote presence,using behavioral symbols such as posture,voice,and language,and they seek recognition in their interactions.At the same time,the emergence of male beauty bloggers has met the differentiated aesthetic needs of audiences,who generally present an inclusive attitude toward male beauty bloggers,and the progress of social concepts has provided good conditions for the development of male beauty bloggers.In the third part,the problems of body communication of male beauty bloggers in Douyin are analyzed mainly from two aspects: body consumption and body aesthetics;it is explained that in the carnival square of mobile media,the bodies of male beauty bloggers are reduced to commodities and the pan-entertainment brought by social media,which affects the reshaping of male image,the phenomenon of over-entertainment of male beauty videos,consumers are immersed in the male sex economy and appear impulsive consumption,and other issues.In the fourth part,in response to the negative phenomena in the value review,suggestions are provided for the development of male beauty videos from four aspects:communicators,communication content,channels,and audiences.Taking body communication as the starting point,the author tries to analyze the phenomenon of body communication and body aesthetic research in mobile media,aiming to provide some of his own thoughts and opinions for the study of body communication.
