As a public cultural space,museums have always undertaken social functions such as recording history,social education,and disseminating culture.In the context of the digital age and the normalization of the epidemic,the intelligent and digital process of museums has continued to deepen,and its functions and attributes as public cultural spaces have also changed.From the development direction and policy orientation of "making cultural relics alive",to the vision of the new format of the digital cultural and museum industry,museums continue to change space attributes,upgrade narrative perspectives,expand functional boundaries,and deepen service skills,so that the functions of museums have been realized from "enablement".Cultural relics come alive" to "make the story come alive" and then to"make the culture pass on".The research selects Lefebvre's theory of spatial production and the perspective of spatial media that intersects with communication studies as theoretical perspectives,trying to grasp and analyze the diverse and complex mechanisms within the museum from a more general perspective.Taking the physical space of the museum as a medium,the research focus has also shifted from "things" to "the relationship between people and things" and "the relationship between people and space".By studying the relationship between the museum,the audience and the city,it has risen to discuss the relationship between space,communication and geographical environment,so that the audience visiting the museum is no longer to meet the shallow needs,but to enter a public cultural production space.When you see a good story,you can personally perceive and understand the history and culture of a region,a country,science and technology,or a certain professional knowledge,so as to generate a sense of gain,improve your cultural literacy,and build cultural self-confidence.Through a half-year field investigation and in-depth interview research on the Chengdu Museum,the following conclusions are drawn:Chengdu Museum,an urban public space,has the characteristics of a space medium and plays a role as a medium to a certain extent.It can be further explained that the media space of the museum constitutes a channel in the communication space of multi-dimensional subjects,promotes the communication between the urban heterogeneous groups,and realizes the spatial production activities after the overlapping and embedding of its own physical space and the mass media.And along the development path of "space mediation-space production-new production relations construction-space reproduction",the functionality of the Chengdu Museum has been continuously expanded and the vitality of the space has continued.
