New media is a new form of communication developed along with Internet technology and digital technology.Compared with traditional media,it has many advantages such as cross-time dissemination,convenient and rapid access to information,rich content,and strong interactivity.The application of new media technology in museums is an inevitable need to adapt to the development of the digital society and an inevitable choice to expand the living space of museums.The Liaoning Provincial Museum is a national first-class museum.The existing new media display platforms are mainly the official website,official We Chat and official Weibo,and also include Douyin,Kuaishou,virtual reality,live video and other methods.This paper analyzes the application status of new media in Liaoning Provincial Museum,and finds that while the new media can improve the publicity effect and service level of the museum,there are still problems such as insufficient application,lack of financial and technical support,and low quality.In response to the above problems,the Liaoning Provincial Museum should pay more attention to the application of new media in the future,strengthen the investment of professional talents and technology,implement the concept of "people-oriented",keep pace with the times,actively innovate,and attract more visitors to the museums,give full play to the maximum publicity effect of new media.
