The Research Of New Product Development Process Innovation Of L Company

The strategy of “Development driven by innovation” is the inevitable choice to bring China from a big country to a strong country in manufacturing.Enterprises are the main body of the national innovation system,and technology innovation of enterprises is the core driving force to realize "Made in China 2025".When the innovation management in catch-up mode cannot meet the requirements of technology innovation in leading mode,change must be made on the innovation management based on business needs.L semiconductor company,established in the 1970 s,has difficulty to adapt to the needs of self-owned R?D business on semiconductor chips with its original product development mode in the new macro environment.That brings an urgent need of a new innovation system for the new business.To achieve this goal,the new product development system has been taken as the research object.Innovation management and NPD theories has been studied.Problems with current product development mode has been analyzed and summarized through document review,group discussions,interviews.Together with industry and quality standard,the requirement,target and guideline for new innovation system has been proposed.Based on these results,the Stage-Gate system with 5 main phases and review gates has been designed and proposed to adapt different project category and product complexity.The requirement of each gates has also been defined.The implementation adopts a step-by-step strategy "communication first,then demonstration,and finally formal implementation".Four aspects have been raised to ensure execution: organizational project governance,personnel training and qualification system,project performance evaluation system,and corporate culture.The R?D process can also be continuously improved through project management IT system,product management system,project knowledge database and financial analysis tools.The thesis provides a reference to semiconductor discrete device companies or other manufacturer with similar products who is willing to enhance their product innovation capabilities.
