Mirror Xia Men:the City Image Shaping In Dual Discourse Context

The influence of city image on urban development has become increasingly prominent.In the past,official discourse was considered to have the monopoly on the construction of city image.However,with the continuous development of new media technology,folk discourse began to challenge official discourse,which made the issue of city image gain official discourse.And the common response of folk discourse.In this context,the article chooses the city of "Xiamen" as the case analysis object,takes the "dual discourse space" as the entry point,uses content analysis to analyze the shaping of the dual discourse space on the city image of Xiamen,and finds the dual discourse space through comparative analysis In shaping and disseminating the differences in the city image of Xiamen,and discussing the significance of the dual discourse space to jointly build the city image,in order to propose a feasible path for the future dual discourse space to build the city image.Through the research,it is found that the city image of Xiamen in the dual discourse space presents different images in the dimensions of politics,economy,culture,landscape,and citizens,shaping different urban images.Secondly,there are certain differences in the dual discourse space when shaping and disseminating the city image of Xiamen,which is reflected in three aspects: construction method,narrative strategy and communication effect.In terms of the construction paradigm,the urban image construction in the official discourse space takes "symbol representation" as the dominant paradigm,while the folk discourse space focuses more on the embodied practice of individuals.Therefore,"spatial practice" has become a new paradigm for the presentation of urban images.In terms of narrative strategy,the official discourse is mainly based on the omniscience perspective,the narrative content has obvious centralization characteristics,and the narrative style is told in the way of storytelling;while the folk discourse is mainly based on the personal perspective,and the narrative content covers a wide range of presentations.The characteristics of decentralization,the narrative style is also more fragmented.In terms of communication effects,the communication data of the folk discourse space is transparent and visible,the feedback mechanism is interactive in real time,and the channels are more diversified.The official discourse space communication effect is difficult to evaluate,lack of the feedback and interaction channels.the communication content is difficult to form an effective interaction with the users.Finally,through the above research,it is found that the dual-discourse space coconstruction of the city image is of great significance in three aspects: clarifying the authenticity of the city,expanding the city's popularity,and improving the city's reputation.Therefore,in the construction and dissemination of the city's image in the future,the two discourse spaces should be more proactive in enhancing the communication and interaction between each other,and further promote the harmony and resonance of urban issues between the official and private discourse fields.
