Nasrudin Afandi and his stories are the typical Uyghur folk literature successfully disseminated and well-received in China especially in his birthplace Xinjiang. Dating back to its origins, we could find that Nasrudin Afandi and his tales are related to the Arab and Turkish comedians "Juha"from Arab and "Hoja Nasrudin" in Turkey. This made these folklore stories cross-cultural and international, and the protagonist Nasrudin Afandi became an international icon. In the process of circulation, combined with abundant local environment laced with history and culture, Nasrudin Afandi and his tales were constituted as a whole Discourse system.From this cultural discourse perspective, the dissertation was applied cultural discourse approach as a methodology to analyze Nasrudin Afandi’s stories and tales from interdisciplinary methods in macro way includes the discourse subjects, discourse contents, the media and social effects and responses in literary works, films and TV programs, academic conferences and news. Thus, the cultural discourse features of Nasrudin Afandi and the internal factors as driving forces behind his successful circulation were proven to help provide suggestions and strategies for the development of ethnic literature. In the process of data collection, the researcher made personal interviews, and collected materials about the authors’ records, academic conferences and relative news from the internet for the study.The findings and conclusion show that multiple identities of discourse subjects have a vast effect on discourse content, media and its social effects. In addition to Uyghur and Han Chinese writers’ narration, the works of artists, directors and academic scholars also reflect ethnic features and the spirit of Uyghur people in the discourse of Nasrudin Afandi’s stories, and display multiple ethnic cultural fusions as internal factors in its successful circulation; Chinese Translation of Nasrudin Afandi’s stories and tales breaks both language and space barriers during circulation and made it nationwide; what’s more, successful promotion and evolution of Nasrudin Afandi’s stories and tales were inseparable from national policies for ethnic literature’s development.
