With China's continuous emphasis on scientific and technological innovation and the continuous improvement of scientific research levels,scientific research institutes and universities urgently need a large number of outstanding scientific research personnel to join,and the competition between scientific research talents is becoming more and more intense.Effective talent evaluation has become an important task for universities and research institutes to hire,promote and motivate talents.The smooth development of evaluation work can encourage talents to produce more and better scientific research results,enable individuals and institutions to have a certain influence and voice in the future development of scientific research,and enable the rapid development of the current subject area.Although there are already a large number of indicators for evaluating scholars,these indicators cannot be evaluated from the perspective of scholars 'career length and the extent of scholars' sustained influence.Therefore,this article puts the evaluation indexes of scholars from the perspective of academic life,and gives the calculation methods of these indexes.These indicators include:scholars' academic life,scholars' academic life half-life,scholars' academic influence half-life and their derivatives.Moreover,empirical research was carried out on scholars published in the journal of the American Physical Society,using regression analysis to discuss the distribution of evaluation indicators from the perspective of academic life,and found that academic life,academic life half-life,and academic influence half-life conforms to the power law distribution,but their fitting situation is slightly worse than the number of papers and the number of citations.Afterwards,in order to explore the applicability of evaluation indicators and their derived indicators from the perspective of academic life,they were analyzed for correlation with traditional indicators to study the preliminary usability of these indicators.It was found that the correlation between academic influence half-life,academic influence half-life rate and traditional indicators in these indicators is very weak,while there is a certain correlation between other indicators and traditional indicators.Then,it is speculated that the median of the year of publication may have an impact on the initial usability,so the correlation between the median of the year of publication and the evaluation indicators and their derivatives from the perspective of academic life is analyzed to determine the half-life of academic influence and The academic influence half-life rate should be specifically considered when the scholars use the median of the year of publication,while other evaluation indicators from the perspective of academic life cycle can ignore the impact of the median of the year of publication.Next,in order to explore the influence of gender on the evaluation indicators and their derived indicators from the perspective of academic life,the correlation between these indicators and gender was analyzed,and it was found that the correlation hardly exists.This shows that when these indicators are used,the influence of gender can be ignored.Eventually,on the basis of previous work,we used examples of Nobel Prize-winning scholars to verify the usability of evaluation indicators and their derived indicators from the perspective of academic life.We found that most indicators are expected to be used to evaluate scholars except the half-life rate of academic influence and the average number indicators.In summary,this article defines the concept of evaluation indicators and their derived indicators from the perspective of scholars' academic life,studies the distribution of these indicators,explores the applicability of these indicators,and verifies the availability of these indicators.The evaluation indicators and their derived indexes from the perspective of academic life of academics are expected to optimize the evaluation system of Chinese scholars,and play a role in promoting the recruitment,promotion and incentive of talents,which is conducive to the smooth development of scientific research management and promotes the virtuous cycle of scientific research.
