In the past decade,the film and media industry has become highly market-oriented.The content diffusion never stops its marching steps and it has gone through significant upheavals.On the one hand,thanks to the popularization of user-friendly conception and the increasing development in the digital and intelligence field make content production an easily accessed filed.New communication forms such as short videos sweep globally.The direct result is an influx of PGC and UGC content producers,putting the market into an oversupplied situation.The outbreak of the Corona epidemic in 2020 put many enterprises in a difficult position.With no exception,neither grass-roots nor big companies in the film and media industry have survived this global disaster.Wrestling with the unprecedented survival crisis such as sharp decrease of income and rupture of the capital chain,as well as the "Aftershock" of the epidemic,how to break through the predicament and redesign the new direction of their following development become the priority of many enterprises' agenda.Chengdu W Media,a private medium-sized production enterprise,was established in 2015.It has been putting its major focus on the production of national documentaries,image promotion films for governments,enterprises,and institutions at all levels.Taking W Media as the study object,the thesis first pins down the general direction of the investigation and the study method of W media applying strategic management theory and relevant productive analysis tools.Secondly,the thesis outlines the policy,industry trends,and social environment that W Media is facing,making the pavement to examine the way W Media can seize opportunities when confronting with new threats.Then,comparisons concerning resources and capabilities is made between W Media and other similar enterprises within this industry from equipment,image data,human resources and other aspects.Meanwhile,under the lens of IFE matrix,W Media's weaknesses and strengths are unfolded in front of us.Lastly,the SWOT analysis is used to conduct a vertical and horizontal comparison in the same framework.According to the guidance of quadrilateral strategic principle,a strategic development path is explored and developed for the company to gradually transition from a single content producer to a regional resource aggregator including production,implementation and capital operation.The thesis then takes one step further by initiating a range of creatively refined mechanisms,including the convert from highly centralized to umbrella distribution corporate governance pattern,the renovation and optimization of the corporate system in various stages,a refinement procedure to recruit and train new employees,the standardized + customized incentive means of existing employees,as well as the cultivation and operation from the cultural perspective.Consequently,the mechanism achieves interaction and effective linkage in operation with structured rules and approaches to make further progress in terms of operation and development.the strategic management of W Media is specific,and the development strategy of the company is a comprehensive judgment and choice based on the characteristics and strengths of the company's business.Despite the fact that there are some differences between companies in the same industry,yet there are also certain commonalities,thus,the examination of M Media's development strategy maintains certain reference value for similar enterprises meanwhile as the social and technological changes every second this topic still awaits further explorations.
