Research On The Educational Activities Of City History And Culture Inmuseums

In China,museums function as institutions for collection,education and research.In recent years,as one of the three functions,education has become more and more important.Lots of museums take education as an important part of their mission.Museum educational activities,as the dominant manifestation of museum education,have attracted much more attention in recent years.Museums also organize abundant educational activities,according to their own collections and the necessity of actual situation,showing their basic functions.As the soul of a city,history and culture play important roles in strengthening cultural confidence and cultivating patriotism.City is the elementary environment for everyone's life,and city history and culture can enhance the sense of identity and responsibility of its residents.According to the current research about situation of museum educational activities in China,there are many papers on museum educational activities targeted at a specific audience group,most of these studies have focused on children and adolescents.However,the exploration on the educational activities of the city history and culture in museums lacks scholar's attentions.Museums are the carrier of displaying and disseminating urban history and culture.With the increasing emphasis on urban history and culture in China,the role of museums in inheriting and developing urban history and culture is becoming more and more prominent.It is worth studying for museums to disseminate city history and culture through educational activities.Therefore,the author takes the museum educational activities of city history and culture as the theme in this thesis.Taking Dalian Museum as an example,the author aims at analyzing historical and cultural connotation of Dalian,the educational activity status and audience situation of Dalian Museum.This thesis combines the educational activity situation with survey,summarizing advantages and disadvantages of educational activities in Dalian Museum,and analyzing the reasons why such kind of problems exist.The author tries to offer some suggestions about the museum educational activities in China.
