| Under the background of "bookstore decline" and "paper extinction",independent bookstores still play an important role as urban cultural landmarks,showing the cultural heritage of the city.In the face of the popular online bookstores and the change of reading habits,the survival and development of many independent bookstores have not attracted the attention of the public and research.This paper follows the research perspective of sociology and communication,uses "space theory",takes Hefei independent bookstore,especially the independent bookstore of "Paper Age" as the research object,to study their cultural mission and social value by participatory observation and interview.Independent bookstores is an important part of urban culture.It trains talents for the city and cultivates cultural soil,and has a great impact on the daily life of individuals and the public life of the group.When participating in the spatial practice of independent bookstores,individuals have a relationship with the "others" and jointly complete the practice of space together to form public life.Independent bookstores form the urban culture by shaping the public life,and shape the appearance of the city by cultivating the people's spirit.In the course of this practice,independent bookstores acted as the role of "spatial media",metaphor urban culture such as "culture circle" and "human landscape" through "agenda setting",while the "audience" as readers were satisfied by using the medium of independent bookstores and constructed spatial imagination.The symbolic interaction relationship between "transmitter" and "audience" connects public life with urban culture,discusses public discourse,completes the individual identity,and shapes the common memory.In the face of the current development difficulties,independent bookstores should focus on their cultural and economic benefits,based on their own survival and people's lives,so as to obtain a lasting and stable development vitality. |
