"Archives" is a major and traditional object in the research of archival theory. In the long-term research in archival practice, archival scholars have carried out the research of archives all the time with many methods and views. Following the establishment of modern archives scientific system, some people supposed the model of archival theory core, which offered a new chance to study archives. In other words, standing on the level of archives theory system, we can study "archives" in archives theory core with a rational angle.Based on the structure of archives, this thesis is to put forth effort to reveal the structure concealed behind archives. It addresses the material structure of archives, and archives consists of the collection of file entities and archives record of historical relations; Then it introduces the form structure of archives, and holds that a file of documents, fond and fond groups are the three representations of the form structure of archives; Besides, it introduces the conception of archives, and supposes that archives comes from files and the historical relations between files; And further, it uses combination of the material structure of archives, the form structure of archives and the conception of archives, and achieves the aim to understand again of the archives arrangement and the principles of archives arrangement, which in the inner of archival theory core, and forms the cognition base to explain archives nature and archives value. In the end, it summarizes the evolution processes and laws of the structure of archives in order to rebuild a archival theory system which can be used to explain the archival phenomenon.
