With the rapid development of society,online car-hailing has become a representative of “Internet +Sharing Economy”.Its emergence alleviates the “difficulty of hailing a taxi” in the traditional taxi market,and provides more jobs for the society,and it has become a common public transportation tool,bringing convenience to ordinary people.The study of the media image changes experienced by online car-hailing from its emergence to its popularity is helpful to understand the media image change process of other new public transportation tools,as well as the influence of mass media on policy making.Beijing News is one of the most important local media in Beijing,and this study makes a statistical summary of the reports on “online car-hailing” published by Beijing News from September 9,2012 to December 31,2020.Based on the framing theory of news,this paper makes analysis with SPSS and observes the characteristics of online carhailing reports in Beijing News from nine categories.It aims to study the construction process of the media image of online car-hailing,explore the deficiencies in the reports of online car-hailing,and put forward solutions.The study found that the changing process of the number of online car-hailing reports is similar to the law of innovation diffusion,and the construction of media image is characterized by stages,with focus of the reports evolving along the line of “technological innovation-market expansion-legitimacy acquisition-safety disputes-daily travel tools”.Besides,it is also found that the construction of media image of related groups is different,including the construction of positive media image and the construction of negative media image.Before the introduction of online car-hailing laws and policies,mass media played an agenda-setting role,by reporting focus events to arouse public opinion and promote the implementation of the policies.Although the reports of Beijing News on online car-hailing show the professionalism of news,there are still some shortcomings such as failing to follow up reports timely,lack of some subjects,and the silence of drivers.This paper proposes to improve online car-hailing news reports from three aspects: continuing to follow online ride-car reports,improving the professional level of journalists,and eliminating stereotypes.
