During the Northern Song Dynasty,the popularity and prosperity of engraving printing led to the publication of a large number of engraved documents.The Northern Song Dynasty is unique in book framing and layout,and can be regarded as a model of print.Since the end of the Ming Dynasty,collectors and version scientists have respected the old carvings of the Northern Song Dynasty,selected the Northern Song Dynasty as the school survey base,and explored the beauty of the outer form of the Northern Song Dynasty.The ancient books of the Northern Song Dynasty have been recognized as the finest of "good books".For a long time,because the Northern Song Dynasty is rare and scattered,people's research on it is limited to the study of single-carve books or from the Southern Song Dynasty since the inscription of the Northern Song Dynasty originally predicted the northern Song Dynasty engraving face.However,with the emergence of the newly discovered Northern Song Dynasty engravings in recent years,the publicization of the catalogs of ancient books of the Northern Song Dynasty in collections at all levels at home and abroad,coupled with the Great Tibetan Book of the Northern Song Dynasty,the Second Book of the Single Buddha Road and the multi-imitation of the Northern Song Dynasty edition of the Liao Dynasty,Chinese and foreign scholars have fully studied it,and it is possible for us to study the edition of the ancient version of the Northern Song Dynasty,which will be of great academic significance for us to examine the edition of the engraving printing boom period and to construct the history of the Chinese ancient edition.In this paper,the existing Chinese and foreign visible 22 copies of the Northern Song Version of ancient books according to the four-part classification,and the Northern Song Buddhist literature and Taoist literature in the history of the subset outside the separate classification,as far as possible to find the entire existing Northern Song version of the ancient books and shadow plates,and respectively selected 3-5 typical pages as a list,the book to focus on the version of the investigation,write a collection.The contents of the collection mainly include the following aspects:1.A brief introduction is made of the collection institutions,authors,content nature,creation time and previous works of the ancient books of the Northern Song Dynasty.2.Based on the book and film catalogues and referring to the descriptions of the layout features of the ancient books of the Northern Song Dynasty by Chinese and foreign Scholars,they are arranged in order according to the composition elements of the layout,such as binding,sidebar,line,cover,paper,ink,font,engraving,book printing,inscription,and card.Summarize and sort out the characteristics of the Northern Song Dynasty edition.3.Combining the layout features and the research results of Chinese and foreign scholars,the paper examines the source flow,timing and engraving institutions of the ancient books of the Northern Song Dynasty.4.List the differences of opinion among scholars and try to present their views.On the basis of the work of the previous chapter,this paper makes a more detailed generalization of the layout characteristics of the ancient books of the Northern Song Dynasty,aiming to reveal the transformation process from scroll loading to the booklets and to explore whether the layout characteristics of the ancient books of the Northern Song Dynasty are regular,and to correct some mistakes or incomplete cognitions of the Northern Song Dynasty version of the past.This article mainly has the following characteristics:1.The collection of the Northern Song Dynasty is the most complete.In order to summarize the overall layout style of the ancient books of the Northern Song Dynasty,and reveal the inner connection of the various parts that make up the whole of the Northern Song Dynasty,it provides a reliable guarantee.2.Based on the ancient books and the research results of Chinese and foreign scholars as the main source of information on the Northern Song Dynasty version,the layout characteristics of the ancient books of the Northern Song Dynasty are summarized.3.Lists and compares the studies of different scholars on the same or the same kind of Northern Song Dynasty,correcting some erroneous views.4.The existing northern Song Dynasty version of the layout is systematically combed to facilitate the future study and utilization of the academic community.
