The Research Of Private Book-collection Of Jiangxi In Song Dynasty

Books are the carriers of human knowledge and communication tools,which are important symbol of human civilization。Ancient private book-collection owns the social functions of preservation and the benefit of offspring, together with the historic missions of disseminating knowledge and inheriting the civilization. The private book-collection of Jiangxi has a long history which began from the late Tang Dynasty and Five Dynasties. Till the Song Dynasty,the private book-collection of Jiangxi showed characteristics of a high quality, large number of books and many of book collectors appeared due to a variety of favorable factors. What's more, it exceeded any other Dynasties and reached its brilliant time.This main thesis is divided into four parts gradually:The first part mainly summarizes the representation of private book-collection of Jiangxi in the Song dynasty and analyses the reasons of its prosperity. Its prosperity was not accidental, which closely related with the development of politics, economy, culture, education and the activities of bibliophiles in Jiangxi.Bibliophiles as the principal part of book-collection are the primary research object. The second part focus on the activities about important bibliophiles, from consulting and collecting private book-collection of chorography, chronological anthology, biography and the preface or postscript in booklist of Jiangxi.The third part, on the basis of historical event from the second part, from particular to common, analyzed its own characteristics of private book-collection in the Song Dynasty in Jiangxi comparing with the official collections.The fourth part elaborates the immeasurable contribution made by private collection in Song Dynasty of Jiangxi, mainly from the role of spreading of the book, the nurturing of talents and the promoting of academic.In short, based on the historical event of private bibliophile in Song dynasty of Jiangxi, together with the activities, ideas and features of book-collection, concise the regional feature and contributions of book-collection in order to do a more complete research of book-collections of Jiangxi in Song Dynasty, further more to confirm its status and influence in the history of book-collection.
